Great Read!,

This was my first Debbie Macomber book and I loved it. There are 2 stories in this book but they both relate and coincide with each other. The first part of the book "Denim & Diamonds" was my favorite. "Denim & Diamonds" is the character developer for the next part of the book "The Wyoming Kid". They were both easy reads and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't want to giveaway parts of the book but if you are a romantic you will love this book. I look forward to reading my next Debbie Macomber.

I enjoyed Denim and Diamonds, particularly the character of Cricket, but I have to say that the situation between Chase and Lettie made no sense at all. I get that he was afraid of her leaving him again, but the whole scene at the end with Chase basically telling her that he never said he loved her and then being such a jerk in regards to her leaving, etc., was just weird. It almost felt like the author was trying to fill up space with a strange plot twist. The whole thing about his fear of her leaving was WAY overdone. Marrying her should have been the end of it instead of throwing Chase's fear in there one more time about her leaving him. A lot of the time, especially after they were married, I just wanted to say "Get over it Chase!" Apparently the art of communication was completely lost on Chase because he feared losing her, but never talked to her about it. At some point, it was like some weird soap opera thing where no one ever talks to one another, they just make assumptions that ruin their relationships. Still, all that said, I generally love Macomber's work and I would recommend this book, but the reader will need to suspend disbelief in various parts.

This was a very good book. It keeps the reader glued to the book to the end. I can't give Debbie Macomber enough praise.

Endearing and page-turning,

This is my first Debbie Macomber book. I enjoyed the two novellas a lot more than I expected to, especially the second story. I thought I'd hate the Wyoming Kid, but I ended up enjoying it even more than Denim & Diamonds. I was turning pages halfway in, and couldn't put it down.

This is a warm and cuddly novel, typical of Debbie Macomber. Her characters are well developed and very believable. Lots of Macomber humor is evident. Readers will appreciate this typical Macomber novel.

Wyoming Brides,

The book was an o.k. read. Debbie writes very clean cut books. On the exception that she could have given a little more this book was good. Denim and Diamonds character Chase was a little overbaring at times, but he had a complex from when Letty left him before. The kid totally stole this book. This book was defiantly the best out of both. The Wyoming Kid's Lonny and Joy hardly had any romance, sure they end up together, but it felt like there was no relationship. He said your mine, and that's that. Nothing realistic about it. Guys can't get away with stuff like that now days.

Not worth picking up,
By Monica (Las Vegas) - See all my reviews

This was the first Debbie Macomber book I ever read and it was terrible. I got about 1/2 way through the first story and was so bored and frustrated that NOTHING was happening that I could never pick it back up. This book went in circles over how she felt and nothing happened besides her talking about her feelings for this guy. It was really bad. Not worth even picking up. Try her other books, though. When I finally decided to give another book of hers a try a few years later, I was pleasantly surprised and am reading that series now.

Very good stories and I enjoyed both of them. Debbie Macomber writes better stories
each time that I read one.

Foolishness,

WARNING - POSSIBLE SPOILERS
I thought the characters in this book acted rather foolishly and immature. It got downright silly, with Chase rejecting Lettie because he was scared to death she was going to leave, but then telling her he didn't love her and he wouldn't stop her from leaving. I found the story to be quite trite and simplistic, and I didn't find the kid to be that cute; rather when she misbehaved and talked in church, she should have been shushed or taken outside. And who would sell their family's property to pay for an operation when the person had already been approved for Medicaid? That was really unrealistic. I probably won't give any of Ms. Macomber's other books a try. |
