I've read an half dozen of this author to date, and so far, she hits half the time for me. This was NOT one of those times.
I really liked Angel as the sister of the heroine in A Weaver Baby, which is why I chose this as my next Leigh, despite the plot description. (I am not a fan of the cloak and dagger scenario.) However, I just couldn't connect with her in this story. I didn't think the hero really had much to offer, either. I found his constant use of nick names in the first quarter of the book not just obnoxious, but distracting. I am not even sure what the author was trying to convey with that. I thought the rescue, flight and relationship was enough conflict for one story. So, the added bits about the patient she recently lost (she's a paramedic) and his family circumstances crowded and muddied the story. I don't understand the point of the Prologue, and the Epilogue was evidently more for fans of the previous books. SPOLER ALERT: Worse of all is the fact that they both lost their birth families, years and continents apart, not just to violence but to the same offender. And this is just a kind of oh-by-the-way, at the end of the book. Words escape me. I slogged through this. I cannot recommend this, but I loved Leigh's books A Weaver Baby (as mentioned above) and the Mother in a Moment / Millionaire's Instant Baby duology. I will certainly be reading more by this author.

I really enjoyed WED IN WYOMING. It was great to enjoy more of the saga, especially with the next generation of the Clay clan. Allison Leigh has a great saga going on.
