3.0 out of 5 stars A true Cudi fan,somewhat dissapointed February 29, 2012
By Angel
Format:Audio CD
I can't explain to you how much of a Cudi fan i am. I what i appreciacte most of the MOTM albums was almost everysong had its own style, its own "catchyness", they sounded different and were very good, but you could all tell they were CuDi's music and they seriously stand out from a lot of hip hop.

I was allll up for a new style of rock because i respect his decicions and i kinda heard of his rock style talent in a couple of man on the moon songs not just erase me, but a couple others so i was positive. I knew EXACTLY that it wasnt gonna be anything like the MOTM albums so i wasnt suprised that it was different when i heard it.

When teleport 2 me Jamie and Brake released i was in love with teleport to me, but i hated brake. It was like metal and it just wasnt good but i didnt sweat it because i thought Cudi just realesed it or recoreded it to give a true rock feeling in one song or just a belt out guitar solo in one song so i gave him room to doubt.

When the album came out i got it at 530 in the morning. The first "run through" of the album was decent, but you never 100% know if you like something unless you listen to it at LEAST minimum 5 times. so as im going through my day i realize something that really just set me off. My favorite songs are "teleport 2 me", "Upper Room", "where did you sleep last night", and kinda "The Dreamtime Machine'.

As i have the other songs on constant replay trying to feel them, now mind you im not just a hip hop fan i listen to alll sorts of rock so i know what good stuff sounds like, i just honestly didnt like any of the other ones and i didnt know why. It really frusterated me because everyyyybody keeps saying the album is phenomenal, but id say a couple of songs. I couldnt put my finger on why i didnt like it and it was frusterating because i wanted to love it. Then i realize something as im playing them over and over again. every song besides the ones i said i liked, pretty much all sounded the same or werent catchy. THATS WHY, i love being able to sing along or when someone mentions the song name, it would automatically play in my head, but not these. They all had close to the same beat/rythem, same guitar sound, close to the same tempo, and i couldnt tell the differences of songs when one of them played. Hmmmm and what do you notice, the reason why i like the songs i did is because i realized that they STAND OUT from the rest! especiiiaallllllyyy teleport 2 me jamie sounds NOTHING like the rest of the album. But i read a comment on here and someone said it sounded like a freshman album of a bad alt rock band, like it was kinda cheap, and i realize how much they are right. I imagined them playing some of these at concerts and the songs sound like one of those random bands who open up for bigger bands and everyones not listening or walking around or talking, its just not catchy and it really isnt that good. I couldnt tell you how one of the choruses go in the other ones because just the same guitar babbling noises and tempos are in my head when i think of one.

If you've read this far, and listened to the album, i dearly hope you know what im talking about becuase sometimes my writing is cconfusing. But basically, if you want that same cudi whos songs are a special of their own and are very good, i dont think this album is right for you. And i am not talking about just because its rock, its just the songs. Do i think you should buy it? Yes, it IS worth listening to becuase there is some good stuff on it. trust me, i am a TRUE cudi fan and know his style no matter what genre, but thought he could put a little more individuality in the songs like teleport 2 me, because that comepletely stands out from the rest of the album if you play the first 20 seconds of each song you can totally tell. I just really needed somewhere to vent all this becuase i think im right, just honestly listen to it with passion, and listen to it like you hate it, and you know what songs will attract you, and what are truly good songs. Thank you for reading this far if you have and i know everyone has their own opinion on the album and this is just mine. I do have to say the the album deserves nothing under 3 stars though.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is WZRD, not KiD CuDi. Great Album. March 31, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you're looking for the dark and grimm KiD CuDi music we've come to know and love over the past few years, this is not it. WZRD is something completely different. We get a look inside the new and brighter side of Scott Mescudi's mind. A mind that is finally free of the drugs that has held it back for so long. Anyone who listens to CuDi know he loves to experiment with his sounds. This album is no exception. There is a very wide range of sounds that mixes the producing skills of CuDi's longtime friend Dot da Genius and and the natural, unkempt sound of two guys who just started playing guitars and drums for the first time. All in all, this as much Dot da Genius' work as KiD CuDi's and they did an amazing job. I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Haters gonna hate February 28, 2012
By DeRocka

This is way different than anything previously released by Cudder but that was the point, this is not supposed to be a Kid Cudi album. It's him and Dot creating something unique. Which they did with great success. Sure, this album is not for everybody but don't knock Cudi for doing what he enjoys. In my mind this is the perfect album to vibe to or get lost in. Can't wait for more WZRD releases and I definitely can't wait for MOTM III.

Scott's movement from from Man on the Moon to this creation is a wonderful success in my opinion. New ideas make the world go around.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kid Cudi Album
Not your typical kid Cudi type of music. It's more focused on vocals and instruments as opposed to a hip hop sort of feel.

However, this album in my opinion is of very low quality. Read more

Being a Kid Cudi fan I just had to listen to WZRD, and I was impressed. So much talent for one man, one of the greatest songs on the album would have to be Teleport 2 me
