10 year old boy fits nicely in this with his stride and boot size. Could probably go up to a 13 yr old boy or small female teenager. Plastic is durable and strong. Don't expect the straps to last forever but will get our money's worth. It is certainly not a "Real" snowboard like you'll see on the ski slopes. It is to be used in neighborhood hills in lieu of a sled. In last year's snow my 9 yo old boy realized all the boys were using these instead of sleds. Don't see many girls using them. Not sure why. They are pretty scary and I do realize the risk of broken elbows is stronger. Make sure you discuss the proper way to fall.
