If you have the "standard" exacto blade knife, you've probably noticed that it (a) rolls off the table and (b) gradually loosens its grip on the blade as you use it. This one has neither problem -- the tightening mechanism is BEHIND your hand so activity with the blade doesn't stress it. It also has a squarish protrusion that keeps the knife from rolling around. Way to go product designers!

I only purchased this for my wedding invitations and it works very well for what I need it for. The end comes a little loose here and there, but overall it's a great product. It cuts easily and I like the pink because it's easy to find in my box of crafting supplies.

It's a normal Exacto knife, just with a pink plastic body. It works well, but you'll need to replace the blade now and then depending on what you use it for. The only complaint I have is that the cap doesn't fit that snuggly and sometimes falls off.

This product has been durable and has done exactly what I needed it to do. The one thing that disappointed me was that this "Gripster" didn't have more of a gripping surface.

I chose it bc it's pink and more exciting than the plain silver, stainless steel ones. Nice with a cap on it for when not in use. Be warned when you open the package. I poked my finger with the blade just opening the pack. A thin protector over it wouldve been nice but...

Anyone who does any type of art work or craft work owns an X-ACTO knife set of some type. Most of us have a standard X-ACTO knife and have come to use it in virtually every kind of application that needs a knife to cut, trim or even enhance the art work or other project we are working to create. The standard # 11 blade is a classic blade and comes in handy for just about any cutting process. If the # 11 is not the best choice, X-ACTO provide multiple other choices that are compatible with the standard knife holder. So, while we have come to know and love the X-ACTO knife we are confronted with an improved version. When we ask ourselves, "How can the X-ACTOknife actually be improved, we find the "Gripster" line.

The "Gripster" X-ACTO knife is absolutely a significant improvement over the standard knife design. Not only does it come is several colors for visual enhancement and vibrancy that helps you figure out the last place you put it down, especially in "hot PINK" but the knife has three other factors that improve it over the standard model:

1) The softer rubberized tubing that surrounds the handle is easier on your hands if you have to use the knife for long periods of time and hold it tightly.

2) The knife blade is held tightly in the handle by a screw down tightener that is behind your hand at the end of the handle. This keeps the artist from accidentally loosening the blade grip during use.

3) The end square nut just below the tightening screw keeps the knife from rolling off the table, a constant problem with the standard handle.

And the improvements do not stop there. The cap prevents accidental cuts by carelessly rubbing a finger against the supremely sharp blades.

I got this to finish a project I've worked on for years and it worked perfectly. Since I was carving letters into redwood, the job was not too difficult and was very useful. I also bought a pack of replacement blades and all of this amounts to a life time of X-ACTO bliss. I recommend it.

I used this for cutting vinyl. It lasted for awhile, but it seems to be getting dull now (they do sell new blades though). I have never used an X-ACTO knife but I have heard good reviews. Thanks!
