"I've unlocked the knuckle on my pole but the pole isn't spinning easy enough?"

"Thread the height adjuster down so it isn't so tight into the upper bearing. Bring it back a quarter turn at a time."

"The pole appears to loosen from the ceiling as I am spinning on it!"

"Make sure that your height adjuster is tightened down enough to the ceiling and the flange nut is locked down."

"There is a knocking sound when I spin on the pole."

"Your pole is not completely vertical. Loosen the height adjuster and recenter the item and re-tighten to the ceiling."

It took me about two months to decide whether or not I wanted to buy this pole. I wanted something with a spin function, and right now, I really don't have the $350 to shell out for an Xpole. The pole install video was helpful, and takes about 10 minutes to put up. I was really nervous about the sturdiness of this product since I am learning inverts and pole climbs. I tried a basic spin then I did a mini climb. I took a big risk by doing a basic invert and the damn thing didn't budge! The pole spins really well too, and it's easy to switch between static/spin. Someone mentioned the pole kind of turning while in static mode, but doesn't become unscrewed. I noticed this as well-- I was trying different spins and changing the momentum and there was a slight rotation in the pole, but it still holds up.

A few reminders/tips:

1. I recommend having someone help you put this pole up for the first time- at least have them hold the pole steady as you attach it to the ceiling.

2. PLEASE make sure you find the studs/joists in the ceiling! Get a stud finder (less than $15). If you don't, you, your pole and the ceiling will probably come crashing down.

3. Make sure the pole is level!

4. This does hold up well on carpet (mine is not thin or super plush, but standard apartment carpet :-p)

Happy Poling!

Awesome pole, and my wife loves it! I bought it for her because she wanted to start to use it to work out.

The pole arrived very fast, and in good shape (thanks UPS) from Commercial Bargains (seller). I opened it up, and the pole came with a bag, and tool kit...plus all the hardware needed. It also comes with a disc that explains how to install, and an instruction sheet. Between the two, I figured it out just fine. So I used a level (magnetic) to hang on the pole to get it as level as I could. I used the level to check all 4 sides (north, south, east, west) while it was semi tight to the ceiling, yet I could still tap it left or right to get it lined up right, and tightened it up to the ceiling. I do recommend a friend, or someone to help you install it as 2 people really make it MUCH easier!

Anyway, it was now straight, and lined up so I torqued it up to the ceiling nice and tight, and I mean fairly tight...don't be afraid. I did end up using some of my own tools such as a channel lock, or a smaller adjustable crescent wrench to tighten the torque rod. Then you spin down the locking nut till it is tight against the main shaft of the pole, and use the little bars (in tool kit) to cinch it down to the main pole. That will keep the torque rod from loosening while spinning, or using the pole.

Then you simply use the 2 screws to put up the cover that hides the torque shaft, and install it....badda boom, badda bing...done!

I am a "big boned" man, LOL and weigh nearly 300lbs. I put this pole up as mentioned with little effort, and gave it a spin...it held me just fine and dandy, and am sure it would even support a larger person than me if installed correctly! Just a quick mention though...

I am a pole fitness instructor, and I needed a new pole for my home when I am not in the studio and want to get some practice in. This pole is fantastic, and the quality is just like that of the X-poles we use in the studio. I am very happy with it, and it wasn;t too difficult to put together. I don't use the static feature, but it does go between the two very easily. Occasionally it needs to be re-tightened, but that isn't uncommon for spinning poles. Overall ,very good product, especially for the price!

The right buy. Now workout poles should make anyone a lil nervous. Way too many you tube videos of them falling over on some clambering amateur dancer. No worries here. This pole is professional. I am a professional dancer and I give this pole the stripper stamp of approval. It secured easily and tightly. It was easy to put, up, break down and relocate. I have used it several different locations from carpet to wood to tile and different ceiling heights. My coworkers and I have used it together. My drunk male roomates have climbed all over it. It is a sturdy professional piece of equipment and it does both static and spinning exceptionally well. A MUST BUY. The price was a benefit! Surprises everyone when they find out how low I got it for.

The wife did a lot of research before choosing this one. I've got a fairly extensive background in mechanics so I knew I could probably install this safely.

Instructional video online is very helpful. The poll installed easily and very sturdy (I even jumped on in myself before my wife to make sure she and it wouldn't crash down).

Wife loves it. As for me, I love that she loves it. However, from a mechanic's view I can see were they took some shortcuts to cut costs. The bearings are a little rough and drag a little, they'll probably be the first thing to go. The tools provided for assembly and reassembly were very poor (have your own tools on hand) and the machining of the parts is of medium quality. There are some minor blemishes in the chrome that cannot be removed (a result of the chrome plating process).

As for the good news: it is very secure. As I mentioned I threw myself at the pole, shoved it around violently to ensure it could withstand my abuse figuring that if it could stand up to me (6'1" 180 lbs) then it could hold her just fine. It needs to be re-torqued from time to time (most of these poles do from what I understand) to ensure it stays put but the good news is that it'll start to feel wobbly long before it gives out and dumps you - plenty of warning that it's time to retighten the hardware before continued use.
