4.0 out of 5 stars Wave 7 is another masterpiece ...
The newest X-Files video set, long-awaited indeed, is essential for the true fan. HOME is extremely rare. FX shows it, but usually only in its very late-night slot when it comes up in episode order. They also "have" to show it when it wins viewer's choice marathons. But Fox will never show it again. As for PAPER HEARTS, it is a poetic masterpiece...

3.0 out of 5 stars Poor Selection of Season 4
This box set collection is poorly selected and not even an accurate representation of Season 4. Home, temporarily banned from Fox but now replaying, is the absolutely worst written and executed show in The X Files. Home's only attraction is the fact that it was forbidden fruit. On the other hand, Paper Hearts is not only a good piece of writing, but elegantly filmed...

This review is from: The X-Files Boxed Set - Vol.7 (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The newest X-Files video set, long-awaited indeed, is essential for the true fan. HOME is extremely rare. FX shows it, but usually only in its very late-night slot when it comes up in episode order. They also "have" to show it when it wins viewer's choice marathons. But Fox will never show it again. As for PAPER HEARTS, it is a poetic masterpiece. UNRUHE was a bit of a stretch; a fascinating episode, but not essential 4th season either. TUNGUSKA - TERMA are needed for the mythology but are not the best of the arc episodes by a long shot. HERRENVOLK is essential to finish the Jeremiah Smith storyline, but is weak in immediate comparison to TALITHA CUMI. Then again, any fan will buy this ... better these 6 than none. MUSINGS and SMALL POTATOES, and to a lesser extent ELEGY (the best of the cancer episodes) need to be released soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the best, May 13, 1999
By
This review is from: The X-Files Boxed Set - Vol.7 (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
You can never go wrong with the X-Files. Most, if not all of the episodes are excellent in their storytelling, and in the past several sets, only the best of the best of each season have been chosen to be placed in this video series. So it is no surprise, that six new episodes have been chosen to be immortialized in bronze (so to speak), and all of them excellent and sometimes downright scarry. [Keep 'em coming, Chris!]

4.0 out of 5 stars CLASSICS, April 29, 1999

This review is from: The X-Files Boxed Set - Vol.7 (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
These new releases contain key episodes in understanding the "files." Terma and Tunguska will reveal many issues to help you better understand the "truth." The next two, "Paper Hearts" and "Unruhe," are absolute masterpieces. Both episodes contain great dialogue between Mulder and Scully. They also reveal their love for one another. "Home" is a fan favorite. Full of gorry scenes. And "Herronvolk" is part two, to "Talitha Cumi," therfore you need to watch that episode as well. There are great picks out of many episodes. These tapes are worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection of episodes from the first half of season 4, April 28, 1999
This review is from: The X-Files Boxed Set - Vol.7 (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The six episodes included in this wave (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) are very well done. First of all, Vince Gilligan did an excellent job writing Unruhe and Paper Hearts. These episodes keep your attention the whole time. Tunguska & Terma probably combine to make my favorite Myth Arc so far. This may be mainly because it involves one of my favorite characters, Alex Krycek. Everyone gets a chance of beating the &%*$ out of him too! Well... pretty much everybody. Herrenvolk, the season premiere, was also a nice Part 2 of 2 that followed Talitha Cumi. It had more of the alien bounty hunter, the bees, Jeremiah Smith, and more. I did enjoy the controversial episode, Home, but I think it was a mistake not to include one of the best episodes so far, Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man. They may include this episode which talks about the assassinations of many important men (JFK and MLK for example) by him in Wave 8. I kind of doubt that they will since that will break their pattern. So far each of the episodes on the different waves have been put in order by episode # rather than air date. That will take away and chances of us being able to see it soon on video. Waah! Well, I will give a 5 to all the X-Files waves since all of them are so well done. Out of the seven so far I may rate this as the 2nd best possibly to Wave 6.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some of the Best Episodes from possibly the best season., April 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The X-Files Boxed Set - Vol.7 (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The X-files is just an all around complete, and intense series. It is hard to pick a few episodes from a season to release. They should just release entire seasons on to tape. Regardless, they do seem to pick the best of the best. Season 4 to me is quite possibly the best season, because of episodes like Paper Hearts, Unruhe, and the Tunguska/Terma two parter-which I have taped and watched countless numbers of times. I still await the releases even though I have all of these episodes. That is the beauty of these episodes,..I don't see how you can get sick of them. I shout out a "were not worthy" to Chris Carter and his crew!!

X-files fans will be glad to finally get 6 more episodes to add to the collection. This starts the Season 4 collection 1996-1997. Wave 8 should also be released this year.

4.0 out of 5 stars Where are Musings,Pusher, and Small potatoes?, May 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The X-Files Boxed Set - Vol.7 (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I loved Musings! it sheds some light on this mysterious character! Pusher was great because I felt that I wasn't the only one who had consdered the idea of a serial killer with telekentic powers! Small potatoes was hilarious because of "Mulder" doing the G-man bit in front of the mirror ptending to be Al Pacino.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are some of the best x-files I've seen yet!, May 1, 1999

This review is from: The X-Files Boxed Set - Vol.7 (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I felt these episodes were very well done. I especially loved "paper hearts" because of the Mulder/Scully relationship. This one is good for those first time viewers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where's Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man?, April 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The X-Files Boxed Set - Vol.7 (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Of course we need the season premiere, Herrenvolk, to continue from Wave 6. This is one of the best episodes of the X-Files and starts what I call the best season of the X-Files so far, Season 4. One of our favorite characters goes away for good in that episode due to some suspicion. I am happy to say that my all-time favorite episode from any show is in this set (Tunguska). Just watch it! Alex Krycek is in it, and he doesn't have much fun in it... You will understand why he wears a glove nowadays. Terma is a great continuation of the episode. Unruhe is very well written along with Paper Hearts. But where is Musings...? I will forgive them if it is in Wave 8. That is why I give 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars X-files at its Best! Without a doubt!, April 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The X-Files Boxed Set - Vol.7 (Herrenvolk, Home, Unruhe, Paper Hearts, Tunguska, and Terma) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Finally Fox has released Wave 7! It was going to be released in the Fall but they changed finally its here! And boy is it welcome! The first tape is Herrenvolk/Home. Herrenvolk finishes where Talitha Cumi started. Home is one of the best MOTW's up there with Squeeze and Tooms. A truly scary one at that. The Second tape is Unruhe/Paper Hearts if you didn't know both of these episodes are written by Vince Gilligan! The last tape is Tunguska/Terma this time instead of clones and bees we have the Black Oil (The Black Cancer) and look Krycek is in it! One of the best collections out there! Besure to get Home on video because it won't rerun on FOX never again. Wave 8 will be out in the Fall.
