My wife ordered one of these for my birthday. What arrived is NOT what the picture shows, in fact it is not an X-Fire product at all. As another noted, it is a knock-off, and a lousy one at that. No markings on the body of the light, and no instructions of any sort included. I asked Bike Mike for my money back, he responded with instructions, then (after sending it back and paying postage), I heard nothing. Sent it back in May, it is now July. Ripped off - avoid!

Update, finally received my refund, I think because I complained to Amazon. 8 July. The "Bob Jones" reviewer above does not appear to be a real person. I also question all the people who recommended his review. The company name for this product has changed three times.

I have seen the X-fire light on other bikes. They look and work great. I ordered two of them off of Amazon. When I received my lights I got some super cheap counterfeit lights. He vendor advertised them as the real thing including a picture of the X fire light. I contacted the vendor and he did offer a full refund. Though I got the refund the fact of the matter is that the vendor is knowingly misrepresenting what he is selling. If I had not caught this I would have been stuck with a grossly inferior product.

It wasn't a x-fire as advertised. It was a cheap version of the light. Item returned right away. Very disappointed because it was supposed to be a birthday gift so I needed to run to a store to buy something else.

I bought one of these lights with the intent of evaluating its performance and usefulness - I had no expectations good or bad.

Pros:
- works as advertised
- rear flashing lights work fine

Cons:
- Lane lines are not very bright. They are not visible on wet roads. On dry roads I did not notice drivers giving me any more room or behaving differently.
- The lasers need to be higher up and angled further outwards - I had the light mounted as high up on my seatpost as possible, but my rear panniers (common with commuters) block the lasers.
- Opening the unit requires removing 3 screws which screw into plastic. Over-tightening the screws will ruin the plastic threads and the unit will not be useful. Also, screwing into plastic will limit the number of times the batteries can be changed before the plastic wears out.

Not bad for a first attempt, but more work is needed before it is really a useful product. A dedicated lane marker light might be a better idea.

after which the light fell off and unless I found one in my supply bag I will be unable to use this light for the purpose for which it is intended - nice lanes on the ground though if it would stay put on the bike. It also rotated around the bar to which it was mounted so I know the breakage was not a result of being "too tight" on the bar. I had one toward the rear and another toward the front so no one could miss the visible lanes at night including pedestrians.

I really like the idea behind this device, but I felt that both the laser lane markers and the taillight LED's were dimmer than I expected. They look great if a car is NOT behind you, but their light is easily overpowered by street lights or a car's headlights.
