Remember the old Elite and the sequel Frontier? X-Gold (a bundle with x-tension and x-beyond the frontier) is the same kind of game. You start with a small ship in a 3d galaxy filled with alien races, some evil some friendly, and with opportunities to make a lot of credits. You can buy goods and sell it to various space stations and industries, you can upgrade your ship with many different components, go for space battles, build your own factories and fleets. It's a complete game. The only bad thing is the slow start.. you will have to gain quite a big amount of credits to really start playing.
