This works for our cat - he no longer stretches/scratches on the couch/chairs!

Not effective for my needs, I am now using bubble wrap though I was hoping to avoid staples on the furniture.
Carol Smith
The sheets did not stick to my furniture very well and my cat could peel it off.

These worked great for me. The first time that my cat went to claw after I had put them on, he put his paws up on the chair and immediately removed them and looked at his paws like there was something wrong with his paws! Then he sniffed the sticky pads, apparently decided they were the culprit, not his paws, and turned and walked away. No clawing attempts since. The only thing negative I can say is that since my dogs are about the same height as the sticky pads, the pads have collected some hair, so they're not exactly an attractive addition to my leather furniture, but neither were the claw marks. And once they get too hairy, I'll just put some new ones on.

Sticky paws does a fairly good job, BUT it works best on smooth fabrics. It doesn't adhere as well to fuzzier type fabrics, so I would recommend using the wide strips instead of the two inch strips for those fabrics. you will have to replace it, as it catches dust, sticks on your broom or vacuum if you touch it against the covered area, etc. You may also have to cut it a bit to make it fit well on some furniture. Also, remember your cat may just move on to a different area of the furniture or another piece of furniture, so be prepared to put it on possibly, all of the corners of your sofa and chairs. It does also look like big pieces of tape on your furniture and visitors may look at it strangely. Some cats will stop messing with the stuff after getting their paws on it a couple of times, but some very determined types will keep trying.I have had it on my furniture for two years and the battle of wills still continues! My cat refuses to use the numerous scratching posts I have provided for him....well, he does sit on them, but he won't scratch them. Overall, Sticky Paws is a good product and I would recommend it.

We have over 10 cats in/out of the house. My furniture used to be covered with blankets which was very unsitely. These work wonders both for small areas and large areas.

My cat recently started pawing at my couch. Before it turned into a habit of scratching, I purchased these strips. I thought that these would be better than the tape since I had very large areas of fabric to cover. The sheets barely adhered to the couch's upholstery. Half of them bunched up or pealed off immediately. Within two days they all had peeled off of the couch. What a waste of money.

I got all 3 kinds of sticky paws, the big sheets, the regular strips and the roll. The extra large sheets are handy for putting on carpet covered steps, the vertical risers that one of my cats loves to tear into, or on larger areas on couches. The cats (4) don't like it. But they do move to other areas that aren't covered. So it's necessary to have something for them to scratch. I got a very tall sisal covered post. But they don't like sisal, so I wrapped it with a small rug and they all like it now. The sticky paws covered furniture is not getting scratched now.

I don't like these sheets. They are very thin and wrinkle up easily. The 'SmartyKat' brand from Target works much better. It's thicker and stays on without wrinkling.

you cannot see the tape on the furniture without looking closely. at first my cat was suprised and averted, then the tape lost its stickiness as dust from the air got onto it. i guess one could take the strip down and put a new one, however my cat was too smart for the tape and learned to scratch around it.

it did not work perfectly, but it did have some effect, and definetly may be worth a try.

Bought this to keep our insane kitten from scratching all parts of our fabric couch. We applied it vertically to the arms of the couch and he _immediately_ stopped scratching as soon as he touched the weird sticky stuff... We were thrilled! You definitely need to take your time and press it down well, from the inside out. Also, make sure you peel the backing off slowly. Ours started to come up at the corners while we removed the backing, but that was solved by going more slowly and by using the backing to re-apply it to the couch. We've since applied these strips vertically to several more places on the back of our couch. Now, our kitten has discovered that he can scratch the bottom of the couch if he lays on the floor and pulls himself along it. I'll cover my whole couch in this stuff if I have to! We're buying the Sticky Paws roll to put along the floor.

It does definitely get fur stuck to it, and we both occasionally get our pants stuck, but it's such a small price to pay to have your couch scratch-free! Our couch is a fabric Ikea couch, and this both sticks well and comes off cleanly.
