I came across this graphic novel on this site and bought it out of curiosity, and I wasnt disappointed. For years, Warren Worthington III (aka Angel) has sort of been a minor background player in the X-Men mythos. Like Wolverine, Cyclops, and the others in the team, Ive liked Angel and always found him a bit intriguing, from his early years as one of the original X-Men through his arc as the deadly Archangel. This book details his teenage days at a boarding school, dealing with jealous rival students, his love life, his stuck-up rich parents, and mostly coping with this "strange physical ability" hes suddenly coming across. A cool read with nice expressive artwork.

I'm a fool for origin stories! Especially when they are as well done as this one. The author did a great job broadening the depths of the character by adding tons of religious connotations and putting Angel in serious real-life adult situations. He took a boring and dull character and made it interesting and relevant.

A lot of people seem to complain about the art of this book but I don't mind it, in fact I praise Pollina's work; It's dramatic, psychedelic, surreal and incredibly detailed. I've never read a comic with such beautiful structure, this is definitely worth owning.

This mini-series was one of the best I've ever read. It is an origin story for the mutant and original X-Man, Warren Worthington III aka Angel. It provides a solid background story. The supporting characters are really great also. The best thing about the issue for me is the beautiful art by Adam Pollina. The comic book world could use more art by this artist.

one wed at the comic store the new comics were delayed... of coarse i couldnt go home empty handed so i checked out the half off trades. came across this one. i remembered it from years ago getting decent reviews... so i picked it up. solid book all around. the art is very cartoony, and when when people say cartoony, most people think scotty young. but its not really like that. it has its own style. the story is standard fare... but its all well done. it all makes sense and was engaging, easy to follow and fun to read. def check it out if you get the chance.
