X-Men Legacy has only gotten better with the addition of these six issues. The writing is top-notch and really well paced and placed throughout the story. I noticed how humorous David can be at first, but I have to say that the writing here is rather wittier than I expected. Perhaps I didn't notice it as much in the first collection, but at the very least here it is played to a great effect. Particularly concerning dialogues between Ruth and David (Blindfold and Legion), some of which can be rather long on David's part but not one sentence is extraneous and in the end pays off.

There are three parts to the story here: A visit to a mutant-phobic church, a date brought to you by the letter "m", and some insight into a mutant-curing facility. All three stories are engaging, drag you in and keep you interested until the final frame. The church story arc starts this of, with David touring the church that Luca (Ruth's brother) dealt with. Of course, they have no idea that David is a mutant (or Jewish, for that matter) and it's a great parody of religious bigotry. They're extremely ridiculous, and its amusing to see Legion play along while tormenting Ruth who is watching the whole thing. Plus, Abigail Brand shows up and that's always entertaining. The date between Ruth and David is next, and it's rather interesting despite being completely based in the text. I don't want to go into too much detail but it's mostly Legion talking and talking but it's all fascinating and, while talking about another mutant, is probably touching upon some of the deeper themes of the series. After all, the story is about a mutant boy who loses himself and his identity to his powers and struggles to find a way to exist where people truly recognize him...and, no, I'm not talking about David here.
