X Ominbus volume 2 hit's the (X mark)!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: X Omnibus Volume 2 (Paperback)
On X Ominibus Volume 2: I did a review on Volume 1 which people really didn't like. However, I did enjoy it even with it's artistic problems and trying to follow the story, etc. It was very hard to make sence of what was happening. I was still able to put in the missing pieces and get something out of it. I said I wanted to get the Volume 2 to see if they were able to fix the problems from the first volume. They did it beautifully. The art work was much better, there was no mistaking who was who where why and when. I believe there are several versions of this book floating around. I was lucky enough to get the version that had new artwork in it. That version totally wrapped up the entire story and concuded the book. This was great read. The artists that rendered this book were consistant with each others styles. In Issue #1 there was only one artist "Vince Giarrono" who I felt really did a good job with his one section of the book. He did the pencils and inks all on is own. He even used foreground and back ground elements, dynamic angles, recognizable characters. He even did well when the exspessions of the chartacters changed. All the stuff you are encouraged to pay attention to when you are a trained artist. Volume 2 is a masterpeice and I enjoyed it very much. I just wish Dark Horse, who is still here after all these years, would bring back the "X"! Things are changing rapidly in this field so they might license the rights to someone else, if they or someone else publishes The X. I will be the first in line to read it. Non stop action,
By
This review is from: X Omnibus Volume 2 (Paperback)
Volume 2, X Omnibus is a book packed with action from Steven Grant, Chris Warner, Janvier Saltares, Christopher Renaud, Chris Pepoy, and Tim Bradstreet. There's more grit, more gore, and adventures of the hero, X, who walks and lives with obsession and heroism. These are stories the way pulp writers like Norvell Paige and Robert E Howard would have tackled comic books. Read this, with the lights on, and a shot of whiskey for courage! Tim Lasiuta |
