This review is from: X-Statix, Vol. 3: Back from the Dead (Paperback)
In X-Statix: Back From the Dead, which reprints X-Statix #11-18, there a couple of small stories, and then one very interesting multi story arch.

In Introducing El Guapo, which reprints X-Statix #11, we meet the newest member of the team, who had both the guys and girls of X-Statix falling all over themselves to be with him.

In I See Dead People, which reprints X-Statix #12, we meet a very disturbed coroner who has a number of issues both in his own life and in his family. Just how much he loves the dead is not matter to be discussed in a public forum, and this is something that Dead Girl cannot tolerate.

In Back From the Dead, which reprints X-Statix #13-18, pop singing sensation Henrietta Hunter was killed, and comes back to life through sheer force of will. However, the people who killed her will do almost anything to return her to her grave. Matters are complicated even more when it's revealed she's a mutant and takes over leadership of X-Statix. This is Milligan and Allred's take on Princess Diana and it is very interesting, indeed. The last panel of this story scared me, which isn't easy to do, given my love of horror comics in general. Spider-Man also guest appears for all of you web-heads out there.

Allred and Milligan deliver yet another strong addition to the X-Statix library.

Recommended.
