I have 3 main criteria I look for in a Bluetooth Headset for running...
1) Rain/Sweat Proof (REALLY!)
2) Long Battery Life (5+ Hours)
3) Comfort

The XTG X-Stream/Splashbudz headset passes all 3 of my main criteria and more with flying colors...
* Rain/Sweat Proof - The XTG stands up to rain and sweat even during my long runs (18-26.2 Miles).
* Battery Life - The battery life is excellent. I actually continued to let the headset play music after one of my long runs just to see how long it would last. I finally just turned it off after over 5 hours of playing music knowing that's longer than I'll ever need for one workout.
* Comfort - Although I typically don't like in-the-ear type earbuds which are usually uncomfortable for me especially after wearing them for several hours, these don't bother me at all. I actually forget I'm wearing them. I also really like the design of the headset being all one-piece. Most headsets use a wire or ribbon type wire to connect the two ear pieces but they often rest on your neck and start to drag when you turn your head from side to side after you start to sweat. The XTG headset design wraps around the back of your head up and above your neck keeping them well out of the way.
* The volume level is excellent (blow your ears out if you like) and for me the sound quality is great.
* As far as using these as a phone headset, I haven't tried that so I can't rate that feature.

I've tried many other Bluetooth headsets over the last couple of years that fell short including the following:
* Jabra Sport - Very short battery life (1 to 2 hours at most for me)
* Jaybird Freedom (J3) - Stopped taking a charge after the first use and I really didn't care for the design
* Motorola S305 - I used these all time and loved the comfort but they are NOT rain/sweat proof
* Plantronics BackBeat 903+ - Stopped working after only a few workouts presumably due to sweat
* Plantronics BackBeat 906 - Stopped working after only a few workouts presumably due to sweat

BOTTOM LINE...the XTG headset rocks and for the price, you just can't beat them! I just ordered another extra set to have for when I travel. Great job XTG! By the way, Amazon rocks too!

These headphones are THE greatest invention! I look at everyone else at the gym tethered to their music device and laugh! I got so tired of worrying about my cord because I often have my phone on the treadmill propped up to watch videos, and when I'm lifting I need my phone to keep track of my workout and then the cord is really in the way! These headphones are perfect! However, just a few minor complaints. The buttons are really tiny and hard to feel when you're wearing it, but not impossible, the left headphone often pops out of my ear and I have to push it back in quite a bit, but maybe it's just my head :) and the volume could go a little laouder I think. Other then those minor things they work great, were simple to pair with my iphone 4S and are worth every penny! I went to Best Buy and Target before I purchased these and couldn't find a pair for less then 89.99! FYI I haven't tried using these to talk on the phone yet--that wasn't a big priority for me.

The buds don't fit in the ear well. The sound quality is ok. I got them two days ago and I am not impressed. I am going to try them this weekend and see if I can get used to it. If I can't I am sending mine back. I should have paid the extra 10 dollars for something better.

The product worked great, twice. The headset volume began to decrease in the middle of a song, then stopped functioning. It would not take a charge or power up afterwards.

I actually liked the headphones. The sound was fine and I needed something sweatproof as I use it primarily for running. Did a 2 hour run the other day, lots of sweat :-) and I guess it couldn't take it. When I put them on today for my run the left speaker had no sound. Tried everything and it's definitely the headphones. Probably won't get another pair. I've gone through 4 different brands already. Sheesh. Amazon is the best though. Had these for a month, no packaging and I can return them for a full refund!

Pros
- Good fit
- Comfortable
- Sound is fine

Cons
- Bluetooth range (would not work with my phone in a pocket; phone had to be in a arm band)
- Funky charging adapter; not universal by any means
- Control button layout is just OK; it takes a few seconds to figure out which button you are actually going to push

First, I want to admit this obvious ... I realize that this falls squarely into the category of first world problems. I get it ... yes, this is not the end of the world, but I wanted what I wanted. I wanted a bluetooth headset that I could run with, as struggling to get my iPhone out of it's case and into an arm band so that I could plus in earphone was a pain. And the wire itself was a pain -- getting tangled in equipment or my own clumsy arms pulling the plug. And ... as I am not an robot and I actually perspire when I run ... I needed it to be sweatproof. And this is 2013 ... SURELY there was a sweatproof, bluetooth headset for just this purpose?! I mean ... right?

So I looked ... and there were at least a dozen of them right here on Amazon. I read the reviews yes ... but I thought that this must be a little to critical.

So ... the fIrst I bought the Motorola A10-HD. First run ... great!!! No problems, loved the fit (a little tight, but that's a whole lot better than falling off your head mid-run which some headset are prone to do), and no audio problems as some had described. Second run ... no problems until ... I could not get the headset to turn off. I had plug it into the charger before it disconnected with Bluetooth. After that ... the power button just didn't work. Then I looked more closely at the reviews ... sure enough, people had issues with the power button and attributed it to sweat. Ugh ... thank you Amazon for returning it!

Then ... I decided to be a lot more diligent about the sweatproof aspect of any other headset I would look at. And I saw the X-Stream Water Resistant Headphones ... it even tauts how you can run in the rain with them. And a lot less expensive than may others. AND ... a glowing review at the top of the list to boot! Yeah! Got them ... first run: Sound cutting in and out occasionally, starting as soon as any moisture ran out of my hairline and on the headset . Second run: Sound cutting in and out from the very beginning, and so much so that it was ridiculously distracting and pointless to wear them. A couple of the reviews indicated that moving the phone from a pocket to an armband was necessary to keep it from cutting in and out ... not true. I was wearing my phone on an armband the entire time. And might I add that I'd only 5'8" ... it's not like it's a great distance no matter how you slice it. So once again ... thank you Amazon, you took another product back.

So audio industry ... WHAT GIVES? I means seriously, is it really that tall of an order to develop a bluetooth headset that is ACTUALLY sweat proof? This is 2013, and we have companies that are developing amazing underwater cameras and audio equipment ... but you can take to market an audio product that we can sweat on? Really?! And is you can't ... why are you telling us that these products are waterproof? That we can wear them in the rain.

I will likely not spend another cent on this ... not unless I see something out there that everybody is raving about.

Very cool headset! the bluetooth option making the head phone wireless is the big deal, sound quality and battery life is great! it's a whole new freedom working out with-out a wire in the way. easy to use and link to my phone, only down fall is not so comfortable using while driving in the car, headset bumbs into seat headrest so I only use out of car.

The bad news is that this broke the first time I used it. The band was so thin it just broke. The good news is that Amazon was AWSOME with the return. They covered all shipping in a very quick manner and I had my replacement by my next race.
