Awesome CD and DVD Package,

X: The Human Condition CD/DVD
X: THC is really unique. This is a two disc package, both a film and a music CD that evokes musical similarities of everything from bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode and Joy Division to Chillout/Trip Hop, like Portishead, Boards of Canada, Zero 7 and Massive Attack to 80's New wave, like Tears for fears, Spandau Ballet and ABC to Industrial (NIN) to Ambient (Air, Enigma). It's a mixture of all those styles, which is very cool. The film, although dark, at the same time is spiritual and positive. Somewhat reminiscent of Pink Floyd's "The Wall", which focuses on alienation and loneliness, with dark overtones similar to Requiem for a dream, yet fairy tale like, maybe like Edward Scissorhands and Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind. It's a beautiful story of transformation and leaves you with a positive vibe. I saw the live show in NYC and its very trippy. Watching the film and the band live, while hearing the music is really different and wild. I totally recommend this because they put on a great live show, AND they donate a portion of their proceeds to charity. Very cool. |
