5.0 out of 5 stars This album is incredible
This album rocks! It's a lot better than other worship albums I've listened to. This band takes traditional songs and puts a little more edge to it. As to what the other person wrote, I'm not sure what they expected... it's a worship CD, not a rock CD. I think this band does a great job of taking "boring songs" and making them more catchy to reach the youth. I'm...

Look at the title: "X-Treme Worship: Worship On The Edge." Makes you think it's going to be something fresh and new, something daring, or at least, some rockin' out music. The album cover uses cool lettering and has a snowboarder; the artwork plus the graphics give the impression that this album is going to be some really cool stuff.

Unfortunately, the title...

I think this band does a great job of taking "boring songs" and making them more catchy to reach the youth. I'm 15 and a worship leader at my church, and I personally love this album... as do my friends. Worship music can be really uplifting and this CD just puts me in a really awesome mood every time I listen to it.

Unfortunately, the title and the packaging have nothing to do with the product. The music is not the least bit "on the edge" or "extreme." It's more like soccer mom suburban worship. It's so middle of the road I can imagine it only appealing to middle age mothers.

The music isn't BAD, it's just too middle-of-the-road for me. I mean, this is more adult contemporary than the music in our Sunday morning worship is. So if you like suburban soccer mom worship, a la Darlene Zschech, you might like this. But if you're looking for "worship on the edge," this ain't it.

August 20, 2004 update: I have now found an album that DOES live up to its title regarding extreme worship music. It's a compilation album from Devotion Music called "Worship Extreme." You can see my review of it here at Amazon.
