Product Description

Easily create scheduled events for your X10 receiver modules with the X10 64-Event LCD Mini Timer & Dimmer. This plug-in timer controls up to eight X10 receivers and supports up to 64 scheduled events. Just set it like a digital alarm clock to turn on/off lights and appliances automatically. The timer also has a built-in keypad with ALL ON/OFF and DIM/BRIGHTEN buttons to provide manual control of the receivers. With the mini timer's security mode feature, you can program your X10 Lamp Modules to turn lights on/off at random times during the day. This creates the appearance that you're home even when you're away. The mini timer also features a built-in alarm with a snooze feature, which lets you silence the alarm buzzer by pressing any button. This pauses the alarm for 10 minutes. After the alarm begins buzzing again, you can again hit snooze to pause it for another 10 minutes. The mini timer comes with an AC power adapter, which plugs into a power outlet to provide continuous power. To ensure operation during a power outage, you can also install batteries in the timer as a backup power source. CONTENTS: 64-Event LCD Mini Timer & Dimmer, Power Adapter, Owner's Manual.

The Device does not last very long. Probably because now the item is made overseas. I have owned the X10 Mini Timer since they first came out. Radio sold a model with a battery back up. The present X10 has a battery backup. Modules: I use strictly an appliance module on everything. Including lamps. Reason: If the module is in the ON mode the setting will recover and the lamp will go on when power is restored. Lamp Modules will not go automatically. If there is a black you have to turn the X10 to the ON mode.
Do not expect the Mini Timer to last more than a few years. I have owned several in the past 6 years. The digits start to disappear.
Possibly an electrical problem. I would recommend to keep the X10 Mini Timer on a good surge suppressor. Amazon.Com does sell a low cost APC surge which informs you if there is an electrical problem. With the X10 Mini Timer probably do not use rechargeable batteries. Use good brand name batteries. If you have a problem with the Mini Timer such as the appliance/lamp will not respond, change the House Code. If you still run into a problem check the Mini Timer 1-4, 5-8 switch.

This has been my 3rd Mini timer in about 12 years and I do not complain about the average life span of the devices but expect that each be made to the the same specification.
The one I am replacing developed a display fault that caused it to stop displaying PM/AM.
The unit I received will only communicate with units on the same phase that timer is connected, I am very aware of the foibles of the X10 system and I may need to add a bridge across the the phases to enable it to work, but my other 3 Mini Controllers and the previous Mini Timer also worked fine without a bridge.

Had great expectations for this unit but it turned out to be a piece of junk. I wouldn't use it even if it was free. First of all the display is too dim, viewing it at eye level is difficult. When you are laying in bed looking up at it on the dresser you can't see it. Only if you stand above it and look down at it at a better than 45 degree angle can you see it ok. Then the other problem is when you press one of the 4 remote-module on / off switches sometimes they work fine, and other times ALL modules turn on and you can not shut them off one at a time. You must use the 'all off' switch and hope it works right when you try it again. Very sporadic. Probably some sort of 'crosstalk' within the unit. Don't waste your time buying this unit, you WON'T like it.

Have used X-10 lightening modules for 20 plus years. This timer is excessively costly compared to past products, including this same version. Also do not find them to be user friendly. That said, it does what it is suppose to do.

This product worked for about 30 days it was somewhat intermittent before then. It is now just an alarm clock now. This appears to be a white box product from china. Who ever is importing them is just buying them outright with no quality controls in place. Buy at your own risk.

I owned X10 timers before and I was very pleased. I plugged-in this timer and I could barely read the display indoors. Very faint LCD display. The functions did not seem to work, or perhaps they were working but I could not see it because could not read the display. Reurned it back to Amazon the same day.
