Product Description

Control up to three X10 receiver modules with the convenient X10 Slimline Wireless Wall Switch (3 Address & Dimmer). Because the wireless switch mounts with double-sided tape, it requires no wall cutout. Stick it anywhere on a wall up to 100 feet away from your X10 transceiver (sold separately). The switch's top three buttons control three X10 receiver modules on consecutive X10 addresses (i.e. - A1, A2, A3). The bottom button Dims/Brightens any lights connected to Lamp Modules or Wall Switch Modules. FEATURES: Controls three consecutive X10 unit codes. Sends On/Off and Dim/Brighten commands. Works with any X10 transceiver. Thin, lightweight design. Mounts with double-sided tape. CONTENTS: Wall Switch, Wallplate, Label Inserts, 3V Lithium Battery, Double-Sided Tape. NOTE: Requires an X10 transceiver or wireless security system base receiver (sold separately).

I have an Insteon home, but there were a few places where I didn't want to dig into the switch boxes. In those sites, I needed a product that could go on the wall like a normal switch. There is no equivalent product in the Insteon world.

So I got a few of these very inexpensive switches and a costly EZX10RF unit to translate their signals to Insteon codes for the powerline. These switches work as advertised and I've had no issues with range.

They are a little finnicky about how long you hold the button while programming them. Also, they don't seem to have non-volatile memory, so if the battery runs out or is removed you'll have to re-set the house code and number. But it's not a long or difficult procedure. The battery is a CR2026 watch battery, the same as taken by many car fobs these days. Available at any Radioshack.

The switches are a little on the white side for my aesthetic sensibilities but don't look overly cheap and don't stick out too far. The adhesive pads they come with are fine.

I live in an old house. The house was not built with wall switches and overhead lights in every room. I also added on an attic fan to pull air into the house instead of an expensive air conditioner. This device allows me to plug lamps and the fan into the X10 wall modules and just treat them as if I'd pulled the wires through the walls. Saved me hundreds of dollars and time! Better still, I can velcro-tape it to the wall, and move it around with me if I need to turn the light on from another location!

Ordered a few of these to place in some areas with no wall switch. They have worked great. Programming was easy and they have enough range to operate the lights I needed to operate via my existing X10 receivers. Easily 30 feet plus a wall or 2 to the receiver. Very thin and don't look like something stuck on the wall until you are right on top of them loking from the side. Will please those that require things to look built-in and not patched on.

It's very useful when it works. And it does work pretty well. It's just a fact that X10 will not work at great distances, and sometimes your house wiring may involve some distance you didn't know. I've used my two to switch on on and off for bed for over 5 years. Try it. Cheap and fun. Chicks did it.

This does the job, but there are 3 weaknesses to the switch, IMO:
1. the adhesive strips on the back won't hold it to a painted wall,
2. the switches are 'on' to the left and 'off' to the right, and
3. the battery falls out when it falls off the wall, so you have to reprogram it.

double stick tape the unit comes with is a little weak, but works if surface is perfectly smooth. Also the unit is controlling light modules in the same room, but sometimes takes several presses to activate the module. But all in all it works as expected, and has a nice slim profile.

Does what it's intended and looks nice. However, after a month being on the wall, it started falling off. Maybe the sticky pad was not strong enough? Other that, I have been satisfied with the unit.

Used 2 of these to control the chandelier from 2 different locations since the wall outlet wasn't connected to a switch. The range is good. 30 ft in my case as long as its line of sight.
