There is a sound from the switch every time it turns on or off, but it is not annoying.

Since these WS13A's are relay control they work great with LED Lights.

I bought a Kobe A-19 led 75W bulb. The dimmable x10 switches will not work as they will not work on neon blubs and leds.

The X10 WS13A switch works great. It is heavy duty and well made. It has a relay that controls on and off. You could use this to switch small appliances, like a coffee pot. I use it to control the 18 year 15watt Kobe bulb. The switch is 3 way capable. The cost "Amazon" is $26 which is very cheap for this kind of switch...

Follow installation directions very carefully. The switch requires black (hot) and white (neutral) input. The relay requires power to operate. The house code set is under the rocker control. It pops off (very gently) with pressure on the sides.

I will run this switch a while then if it still works ok, I put one in the garage neon lights. Also, I will put one on the house outside lights so I can replace the old bulbs with neon lights. Got to get rid of the power hogs....

I use this wall switch in an area where I'd like to keep fluorescent lamps in the fixtures. Send an X10 ON command or press the paddle and you'll hear a satisfying "clunk" and the red LED on top will glow. The 13A's paddle is made of a stiffer plastic than some of its dimmer counterparts... I feel like I am less likely to jam the plastic on this switch compared to others. It also has a terminal block in the rear, so wires can be connected to the switch without the use of wire nuts. I'm drawing far less than the rated switching amps of this device, so I expect years of reliable service.

Works as designed. Fast delivery. Just a note to others. Make sure your wall box you wish to install this switch into has a neutral (white) wire in the box as well as the black or the switch won't work. You have to wire it as it was designed. If the box your going to install the switch doesn't have a neutral wire, you have to either install one or have one installed by an electrician. I got lucky, my wiring box had one. :)

I have been using X10 for at least 20 years. I am switching from incandescent to LED lights. I am buying these switches because the old X10 switches are solid state and the leakage current will cause the led lights to flash intermittently. Since these WS13A's are relay control they work great with LED Lights.

I have been using this for a little over a week. It is reliable and does what it is supposed to do. The finish is excellent; much better than the switch it replaced. The LED is very useful; I can look at it from far and tell if the switch is on. The switch does require a neutral (white) wire in the switch box. There is a sound from the switch every time it turns on or off, but it is not annoying. In fact the sound lets me know without looking when the switch has activated, which is useful during these initial days when I am still tweaking the controls.

I am using this to control driveway lights with the switch inside by the main door. I chose this over something like a WS12A because I am using CFL lamps. For remote control I am using two controllers. The first is an Eagle Eye X10 outdoor motion sensor. This turns the light on when it is dark and someone approaches the house. The second is my own software running on the PC which extends the control over web so I can control the light from my phone either inside or outside the house.

There are lots of options available for home automation. The main ones are Z-Wave, ZigBee, and now WeMo. However the price of X10 cannot be beat for appliance and light control applications. I am also using Z-Wave for thermostat and garage door tilt sensor, where X10 products are either not available or do not perform reliably.

I Purchased 2 of these to control my front and rear porch light. My lights are LED, so only the relay type of X10 switches work. I still have 2 of the old Radio Shack Clocks that can control X10 devices. These take a little getting used to, as they are really only a push button behind the rocker panel, and you can see the LED light when they turn on. The relay is quite load when it turns on or off, but that is positive indication that it worked.
They need a little more instruction on changing the panels from Ivory to White, but it is not to hard to figure out. They do need a neutral wire to work. You will need enough room in your box as they are pretty deep. I received these on time, and they were as advertized. I am happy with the seller.

It works great, but it does have a few faults. The most annoying for me is the fake nature of the rocker switch. Only one side of it works, the "bottom", or side opposite of the LED functions, but the other side is just for show. Secondly it makes one heck of a "click" when it turns on/off. I would liken it to a heavy deadbolt being locked/unlocked. It doesn't effect anything with my application (exterior lights) but I know I'd never swap out my bedroom/living room switches with something like this.

I had previously used the other style of x-10 switches and found they did NOT work well at the switch. The remote controller was quite responsive but the location switch was poor. These cost more but work at the switch every time. I liked them so much I did a reorder.
