I've got a couple of these installed throughout my home. Takes only a minute to install and they work great. To be honest, I've only installed these into places where I didn't want to use the wall switch. So I can't vouch for the usability of the swtich itself. I use the remote to control the switches. These switches do dim, and they return to that same dimmed level after you turn on/off. These will work with your existing faceplate for a traditional wall switch.

The idea is great. When I first put them in (3) they worked great then two of them started coming on by them selves. When I did a little checking on line it would seem this is quite common. So far I have only had problems with this type of switch, so I am thinking of changing them to the XPS3 which requires a neutral wire, but it seems to be a more heavy duty & reliable switch.

The X10 remote control light dimmer switch I ordered did not work correctly. The light, at full illumination with the X10 switch was much dimmer than the light used with a standard switch. Since it would cost me as much, or more, to pay to return the item for repair than I paid for it originally, I put a standard switch in and called it a day.

No more getting out of bed to turn off the lights and then stumbling your way back in the dark of night. This product is absolutely the best. Also used it to tell the kids it's time to get to bed- simply push the button on the main control and WOW - their lights go off.

Wow, we love switch. This allowed us to turn the single pole, outside lights of our garage on or off from inside our house. The garage is located about 90 feet away. I was amazed at the range. The switch is dimmable and remembers the last dim setting. This means that when you turn it on with a push of the button, it will be at the last dim level set until you turn it up or down, to a different level. Well engineered and easy to install. A winner.

We bought 2 of these to use with a remote control device. Both switches stopped working all together after less than 1 week. They could not even be operated manually! We are not sure of where to go from here, but we are loathe to buy 2 more and try again.

Decent quality, about as any other X10 stuff. Seems to be more reliable than previous models. Soft on and off is pretty cool.

I can really use this product & will possibly want to order more. Very happy with the time in which it arrived.

It was and is exactly what I wanted. Able to replace my old one with great results.

What a great way to control the lights and small appliances all around the home, we have used the x10 system for twenty years and well are satisfied. The X10 light and appliance remote control(wireless) system works very well for controlling appliances i.e. a fan, coffee maker, etc and dimming or turning on/off lights on a timer or with a wireless remote control.
