I'm not getting 100 feet, not good in low light,

Pros:The resolution is perfect for its task. I'm not filming a movie but just need to keep an eye on the kids and this camera is perfect for that. If you are expecting a high quality picture, though, you will be sorely disappointed. It broadcasts in full color!! It was really easy to set up. Pretty much plug and play (and screw into the wall). I've got a second one and I haven't set up the remote conrol yet, but I can't imagine that being too difficult. Bang for the buck, this is a great investment to pick up. You are paying very little for what you get. Also, check out the X10 web site (www.x10.com) as they are always handing out specials all the time. It is small. It is amazing what you get from this small little device. It fit nicely in the corner of the room we wanted to monitor. I've seen larger cameras that do just as much. Wireless!!! This makes it so you can set it up nearly anywhere without having to run wires through the walls. Cons: I'm not getting the promised 100 feet (it is only 20 feet away and the picture will still go in and out at times). Make sure that wherever you put this that there is a lot of light. If not, the display is very dark. X10 also makes a camera that can see in the dark, but this camera does not do that.

I bought this camera after looking at all the ads about it, I was not looking for anything special just a camera if possible color that I could use in different areas around my house for security, to test the product I bought this X2 camera from the X10 website and also bought a flood light with an integrated wireless camera which is supposed to be this same camera embeded inside the floodlight casing with a motion sensor. Well, to make the long story short, the picture is 6 out of 10 which is good enough for me but it is very sensible to any and I mean ANY electrical noise. The distance that it is rated for 100 ft it's a joke, this camera could not do well in more than 20 ft, my flood light camera was installed at 30 ft from the receiver and it is also useless. Don't buy this camera if you plan to have it far from the receiver, I would say it will do a fair job room to room maybe to monitor a baby or so, but I think that for that purpose you will be better off buying a baby monitor, in other words I don't see practical use for it unless like I said the receiver is relatively close to the camera. Also if you are planing to install this in a multicamera system, you are suppose to have the camera antena aligned with the antena from the receiver, I have no idea how the guys at X10 plan to align a single antena to four different locations at the same time, do you?...

Quality Equals Price,
This review is from: X10 XCam2 Tiny Wireless Color Video Camera (Electronics)
Yes this is the most economically priced wireless camera on the market. However, the quality matches the price. If you are using this camera outside of a 20ft range from the receiver, you will receive little or no signal. Within 20ft, the signal quality is poor. I would recommend spending a few more dollars and buying a better quality camera. I plan to return the ones I bought.
