The game is Hot!,

This game is hot as hell. The graphics are really tight,The controls are just the same.I've followed Wolverine's storyline for 13 years, and this storyline is brilliant, and accurate to the comic book series, thanks of course to Larry Hama, who contributed to the game and has been a Wolverine writer for years. The excitement is intense and will keep you addicted for hours at a time. You use stealth and jump out of the shadows at enemies and gut them with your claws. You can use over a dozen spectacular looking combos to finish off a few enemies at a time, each combo more brilliant looking than the last one. On one of them, you can throw two enemies up in the air and impale them on yourclaw like a shikobob. The battles with the big bosses are simply awesome. You get to throw down with Sabretooth (twice), The Juggernaut, Wendigo (one of the coolest battles), Lady Deathstrike, and Magneto. Mark Hamill does his coolest performance since Star Wars as the voice of Logan, and Patrick Stewart is sharp as ever as Professor X. It's his trademark character, he probably thinks he is Professor X. This is Tenchu - Wrath of heaven, Syphon Filter, and Metal gear solid 2 stirred into one game and I can honestly say that I think it will be the biggest game of the year, a good rival to Grand theft auto Vice city. I hope that this isn't the last Wolverine solo adventure game, He is the coolest superhero ever, even cooler than Spiderman, Superman, Batman and The Hulk. Anybody who gets into this will definitely be addicted to it, take my word for it. I have plenty more great things to say but then this review would be too long for anyone to read through. Wolverine rules!

I don't understand all the negative reviews of this game in magazines and internet articles. I find the game to have an interesting story, while not babbling on for hours (ie you get to play more than watch, unlike Metal Gear Solid 2). The voice acting is really good for Wolverine and Professor X, with some of the characters who only have a couple lines being so-so at times.I enjoy the fighting system. The combos look cool, which is their purpose. Boss fights are probably the worst part of this game though. All the bosses I can think of have something special you have to do to be able to trigger a combo on them, and several of them you don't think of -- you just kind of stumble onto them. Also, near the end of the game it gets REALLY hard. The camera does suck, just like it does in any 3rd person game where the camera isn't attached to the ceiling or to some rail. But it's no worse than any other game I've played which uses the same type of camera. The game looks a little lighter on the graphics for the most part than other current PS2 games: the polygon counts are lower and the little touches aren't there. But the game's "Instinct" mode looks really cool: being able to see foot-prints and the smells of the enemies comes off really well. The animations in the games are really good though. They have a convincing weight to them and they always seem to blend into each other perfectly. The game, like the spiderman games, has lots of unlockables. The most entertaining of which (for me) was the costumes, which seemed to be pretty easy to obtain, unlike some of the spiderman games. In short, I found this game to be really fun, occasionally frustrating (boss fights), and looking good enough to great depending on what element you're looking at. And the sounds is good, although the music gets repeditive sometimes.

When you first pop in and play X2: Wolverine's Revenge, you might think that this game would be much, much better than it is were it not for the fact that it was on a tight schedule to be released alongside the new X-Men film, and you might be right. Wolverine's Revenge has a lot going for it, including a taut storyline courtesy of long time Wolverine scribe Larry Hama, nice graphics and cut scenes, a nice array of bosses (including Magneto, Sabretooth, Juggernaut, Wendigo, and Lady Deathstrike) and acceptable voice acting from Mark Hamil as Wolvie (sorry folks, no Hugh Jackman here) and Patrick Stewart reprising his film role as Professor X. All those good qualities aside though, there are quite a few cons as well. The controls are clunky, the camera is frustrating, and Wolverine's jobs mainly consist of slicing up a few generic thugs, finding keys, opening doors, and fighting the bosses. If the game would have had a bit more time and though put into it, this would be the best X-Men game on a next generation system to date. However, Wolverine's Revenge isn't all bad, and it is definitely worth playing if your a fan of the comic or just anything X-Men.

A game for developed tastes,

Whether or not a gamer is going to enjoy Wolverine's Revenge is going to depend on what they want out of this game. One one hand, we have some great abilties to take advantage of, such as stealth mode and animal keen sensory mode. You also get to hear MArk Hamil (our own Luke Skywalker) doing the voice of Logan, as well as Patrick Stewart playing his part as Xavier. The storyline is basic, which isn't a bad thing, and there are alot of nice features (such as getting to change Logan's costume from 'Weapon X' to 'Movieverse' to 'Comic and Ultimate Comicverse') However, I will say that you have to be a true lover of Wolverine to feel like playing this piece was worth your time and effort. The controls are complicated, though not as bad as they are for the PC version of this game. Also, the game doesn't always remain true to the character of Wolverine. There's far more sneaking around than there is actual fighting, and you learn quickly that, Healing factor or not, it's pretty easy to die. I played it all the way through, because I have been a close follower of Wolverine since I was a child, and couldn't pass up an opportunity to theorically "be" him for a while, but if a gamer is playing this for the sake of Game quality, they may find themselves disappointed. ~Lacy Cotton www.wrathoftherunt.com

I dont know how you mess up this bad! You can not bass the whole game on just him trying to get revenge, you have to get the rest of the x-men involved! I just dont understand how the graphics could be that bad and how you have the game that hard. You barly can get pass the first level even if you use cheats! i just thought they should have spent more time on the game to make it better and maybe released it when X-2 came out on dvd!

The Game is about wolverine and his virus. He try's to locate the 2 samples of the Anti-virus type A and B to save his hide. He goes through the game finding them whistle fighting very plain enimes, also fighting bosses such as magneto juggernaut and of course sabertooth. this game can some times make you think Ex: stealth and when to use it and moderitly easy puzzles. The graphics were OK. This game probly would not get a 5/5 due to clunky controls and the lock on mode (verry buggy) and hugging the walls(also buggy a couple of times I hugged a invisable wall) also hard to get off the walls when enimes saw me and started to attack. but there is alot of good things to like the stealth ability and stealth kills not much like wolverine but helps balincing a hack and slash. I also like that there is a unique way to kill every boss not just pound at them. The game is a bit repetitive sneak kill, sneak kill, hack and slash, hack and slash can get boring at times no reaply value (in my sense those are not "good Buys") if they had more time i'm sure it would have been a great game but it just barely made the mark meaning preatty avarage game. Recomended for die hard wolverine fans it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Wolverine's Revenge is a very cool game. Sure it's pretty challenging, but I like a challenge. The gameplay is excellent. It is very complex and I think that is what makes this game so fun and exciting. Also there is a lot of interesting bonus material. You can watch blooper tapes, and learn about all the different characters. You can even change Wolverine's costume. I really like that this game makes you do most things in a stealthy way. This makes it a lot more interesting. I give Wolverine's Revenge 2 thumbs up.

Closely follows the comic book stories.,

This was an interesting video game. I am so used to playing sports games and GTA that I have forgotten how cool it is to be a superhero once in a while like Wolverine. The game is enjoyable all the way through. You are Wolverine, you have the claws, the healing factor and the awesome martial arts moves, not to mention great combo moves and sneak attack moves. As Wolverine you can also change the costume you wear as you go along the levels and pick up comic book icons. You battle Wendigo, Magneto, Sabertooth(twice), Lady Deathstrike, and Juggernat. Now that I told you how great the game is, let me tell you why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. The movement of Wolverine when he is sneaking up on an opponent is so two-dimensional, he can only move so much, especially when he's against the wall, you can hardly move him at all! Also when hes fighting and the clock is running down and you need to move fast, he doesn't just turn and run, he backs up slowly as hes being attacked and when he gets a good distance away he begins to run. I would recommend renting this game just to kill time over a week because it doesn't take long to finish. You also have to check out Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse discussing future plans for Wolverine at the end of the game, and Wolverine trying to remember a name of one the mutants who escaped a prison designed for dangerous mutants such as Magneto, Juggernaut, and the one Wolverine remembers is- yipes Omega Red. Oh, and to the people who make video games-Juggernaut is not a mutant, he shoudn't be at a prison for them.

This game is great and follows the story line pretty close.the characters look more like they do in the comic book and not like they did in the movie. You can unlock all of wolverines outfits and use them whenever you want, you can also unlock files about each character and movies that tell more details of the story line. The only two things that I didn't like Were that The difficulty level is pretty steep and some of the bosses take alot of time to figure out how to beat them. You don't just attack any of the bosses, they all require some special way of beating them. this is a cool idea but you have to wait for the word "strike" to appear at some point and on sabertooth #1 I died three or four times before it came on the screen once, and without it popping up you cant beat him. also after you beat the game there isnt enough replay value, so its basically either keep playing the levels over or play the dumb challenges. probably worth owning but renting it and beating it might be adequate.

Another disappointment...,

As a rather big fan of comics, especially X series... This is just another in a long line of disappointments. I have never found a Marvel game worth the $ you shell out for it. If you really must have this, wait a few months or find it used. I gave this 2 stars because the graphics are pretty nice, but thats where that ends. If you are a hardcore fan, then maybe this is for you but if not, just wait or go get something else.
