First off, I'm going to say I'm no fountain pen expert. All of the ink-using writing instruments I've used for calligraphy have been traditional quills (yes, I mean the goosefeather ones) and quill-style pens. So buying a fountain pen was going to be a bit of an adventure for me.
First off, I don't know if people can see it in the pictures (my computer screen is quite dark), but this pen has a spiral design etched into the barrel. It's quite a lovely pen, the gold-colored trim really does well against the pearly-white, and the etching on the nib is lovely. It's a bit heavy, but I actually like that a lot- it's easier to control and it just feels very nice in my fingers.
To address the issue that the other reviewers seem to have experienced- I have had this pen for a few days now and have written a substantial amount, and only once have had to prime the pen after I put it down on its side for 8 hours.

In short:

Pros:
-Beautiful, streamlined design
-Nice weight
-Writes beautifully- I've received many compliments on what I'm able to produce with it
-Efficient with ink

Cons:
-Occasionally have to prime it. But quite honestly, I wasn't expecting any different, and it's not really a problem or annoyance for me.

Do note that this pen also comes with a bottle of ink. However, the included ink has a very blue tone, so I bought this very nice black ink to use instead: Bulletproof BLACK EEL Noodler's Fountain Pen Ink

I was pleasantly surprised by this pen. The nib is very smooth and slick - it actually squeaks a bit on Clairefontaine paper! There was a bit of scratchiness when I first tried it out, but it turned out that the tines were just a bit misaligned when I took a closer look. There is a minor amount of flex to the nib, though I wouldn't recommend it as the nib may stay a bit bent if you go too far. I would say this nib is a medium in line width. With the nib turned over it becomes a fine... and is still smooth to write with!
The decoration on the nib itself is nice to look at as well. As others have said, this pen takes a few taps/priming to get it to start initially, but the flow is great after that.

The body of the pen is rather heavy since it is made of metal. The cap does not post well and jiggles around on the top of the pen, so if you like a long pen this one probably won't work for you. The grip section is comfortable - hard plastic with a few grooves for traction.

It comes with a normal converter that does the job. Eyedropper conversion probably isn't an option due to the metal body of the pen.

I was also surprised that this pen came with a free 25ml bottle of "Chesterfield Obsidian" ink. Quite a nice black color that fades to a very dark grey when dry and has a hint of blue in there as well.

I ordered this pen on a lark just to see what kind of pen you'd get for $11.99 and am truly amazed. The body is metal, which makes it a little heavier but much sturdier than plastic ones. The "Kurve" element is a pretty scroll incised around the body and cap. Even the nib is pretty. Most important, the pen writes beautifully. I prefer a medium nib, so this is perfect for me. If you like wide or fine points, this is not for you.

This pen is a beautiful pen. It is heavy enough to feel "right" in my hand. My only problem with it is, that I must start the ink flowing each and every time I start to write something. I much prefer to be able to start writing without priming the pen.

I'm not going to sit here and praise this pen to the point where I start finding hidden symbolism in the styling. However, what I can tell you is the value that this pen has. I have has zero issues with the pen. It writes well, the ink that comes with it is a little cheap. I use the converter all the time with no issue. The pen is heavy, in a good way, so not overly heavy. The pen looks spectacular for the price. "It looks even better in person." Yada yada. People really will think this pen cost you a lot of money and you will have comments like "I can't believe you use such an expensive pen to WORK" (if you decide to use it in the work place.). It's a solid product, I haven't had any issues. I probably would have paid 100+ dollars for this pen if it had a different brand name on it, and I would have never known the difference.

I am very pleased with my purchase. I received the pen and it was damaged. When contacting the seller I was told that they would immediately send out a replacement and inspect it by hand to ensure it was perfect. This was done and I have not had a problem with the pen at all. A beautiful writing instrument, and the only issue now is that I do not like the standard pens now. I have been spoiled.

I really do love this pen. I's got gold detailing, beautiful engraving on the nib, and the spiral wraps all the way around the cap and barrel. It's also a gorgeous creamy color that reminds me of pearls. It does come with a converter and a very pretty shade of blue ink. Unfortunately, it won't look quite so nice splattered all over your hands and fingers. It was my first time using bottled ink, and it got all over my fingers. It only got worse after I wrote a thank-you letter to my aunt and uncle for the gift certificate I used to buy it. 2 showers, several hand-washes, and a day later, it's still ther, as clear and distinct as ever. It's a beautiful pen and a joy to write with, but if you're not an expert at using a converter, buy cartridges. Buy many, many cartridges. It's either that or learn to live with a very blue stain on your index finger. Don't say I didn't warn you.
