Cool golf tool!,
This review is from: X6 Golf Club Groove Sharpener, Re-grooving Tool and Cleaner. (Misc.)
This is a very easy to use tool. Took me 20 mintues to sharpen my (3) wedges. I could tell a huge difference when I played, the ball had much more backspin than before. Nice quality and design, seemed to stay sharp

My clubs are 8 years old. The grooves have never been sharpened. Sharpening with this tool was hard work because the grooves were in such bad shape. Once done, the grooves were better than new. I will resharpen once per month and I expect the process to go much better and faster.

I love this tool for regrooving my irons. You do have to be very careful if your grooves aren't very deep. Use oil to aid the cutting tool, but start out with light pressure at first until you get a good groove to follow, then use more pressure. If you get in too big of a hurry, you might slip and put a scratch in the wrong place on the iron face, like I did. It's a learning process. After the scratch, I decided to take my time and do one iron a day, for best results. Just don't get in a hurry.

I still love my old Ping I3's but the grooves were getting very worn. After researching the different regrooving tools available I chose the X6 and am not disappointed. My clubs are close to new again and have amazing bite out of the rough.Tips: Definitely use a vise with a club clamp. This tool is supposed to be ergonomic but in order to apply the right pressure while keeping the tool in the grooves can put you in some odd and uncomfortable positions. The vise will make it much easier and more comfortable. And you will want comfort because this is no quick process to do it correctly! I found that a couple of dry strokes in each groove prior to adding 3 in 1 oil worked best. Since my grooves were so worn they required alot of pressure to get going and the oil made it difficult to keep the tool in the groove until it was sufficiently dug out. Once a good groove is established add the 3 in 1 oil to finish your perfect new grooves.

The tool has a large handle which make it easy to use. My iron set has never been sharpened after about about 60 rounds. Cleaning and sharpening all 10 irons with X6 took me less 30 minutes. On the course, I feel great seeing my 50 yard pitch shot caused the ball to back up 3-4 feet. It brought my favorite wedges back to life. Looks like I saved myself from buying 3 new wedges.

I purchased both the X2 and X6 groove sharpeners. Used them to resharpen (2) Titleist Vokey wedges and (1) Cleveland wedge. The tools worked great and they really did the job. It was nice to have both tools since I had several clubs to do but you don't need them both. Of the two, the X6 is easier to use because of the handle and the design. The X6 also has 6 tips so I think I will get much more life out of it.Tools come with directions and it's pretty straight forward, just take your time. I have tried other groove sharpeners in the past and nothing compares to these as far as overall quality and design.

It works. End of story. I sharpened my Titleist 704.cb forged blades and I'm takin a piece of every golf ball when I strike em. The only downside is, if you already spin the ball a lot, sharpening your groove with this might ruin softer balls like the prov1 or prov1x.

Love this product!!! Works as described. My iron clubs grooves were in bad shape after a few years but with this tool they came back to life. Had a hard time at the beginning but with light pressure and 3in1 oil the process became very smoothly.

This is a sturdy tool. Sharpening the grooves in the short irons is fairly easy with this tool. It has 6 cutting edges, 3 for the "V" shaped grooves (the only legal ones now.); and 3 for the square grooved irons. The handle is very big and helps a lot to hold the tool steady. You have to develop a method for holding your club steady so that you can keep the tool in the groove that you are sharpening. I have been able to brace the shaft of the club against my bench-mounted vice with my left hand and arm, while keeping the club face flat on the bench. I took my time in doing each of the high-loft clubs, and the grooves look vey good. The tool is made of very hard steel and has shown no sign of wear as of yet.
