You do need a IR signal sensor that's not included in this kit. Read Xantech's own website to find the sensor most suitable to your application, then buy it here on Amazon. (Xantech doesn't direct-sell from their website anyway.)
LCD and Plasma TVs do give out a lot of IR noise. So the right sensor selection and placement is needed. (Otherwise the "noise" is louder than your remote signal, and saturates the relay station.)

I bought this a week ago and the package arrived before the estimated delivery date. I got it to work within minutes and it is perfect. The packaging was excellent and it contained some extra stickers for the receivers (the red heads that stick to the devices you want to control). I bought this as a replacement to an existing one that my previous home owner left behind. He didn't know what to take and what to leave behind so I had a unit without all the parts.
I have a LCD TV on a wall mount and the A/V Receiver, DVD Player and Cable box are all locked up in a closet behind a 5" thick wall. I have a stealth IR target that hides behind the TV and connect through a long wire with the Xantech IR kit. I wired the kit, stuck the receivers on the devices and wholla!! it started working in no time. I would recommend this configuration if you want to keep the clutter of wires away from the family/ TV room. Excellent!
