Carfull> Image misleading,
By FM "(digital)" (USA) - See all my reviews Networking is possible if you have a second unit. In my house average powerline transfer rate was however only approx. 150kb/s with a max of 300. Nowhere close to the maximal 11MB/s in the product description. Hence practically useless.

OK If You Can't Do Wireless,
This review is from: XE102US - Netgear XE102 Powerline Ethernet Adapter 1 x 10Base-T Network, 1 x Powerline - 14 Mbps (Electronics)
I had a set of these units, but got rid of them fairly quickly. Make sure you buy at least two units or you've just got an expensive paperweight. It really doesn't matter what two you get, there isn't really a master/slave setup with these. Either one can be plugged into your router and the other one plugged in for your device. Be sure you don't try to run these through a surge protector or extension chord. They won't work unless they're plugged directly into the outlet.
Pros ----- Better than running yards of Ethernet cable through your house. Perfect for devices that cannot use wireless like a PS2 or printer. Easy installation. Cons ----- You need two of them so it can be pricey. They get VERY hot. If you need the security, it's a minor hassle to setup. Without security, on the same electrical circuit anybody could intercept. You cannot use in another room if it's on another electrical circuit. It draws more electricity than a wireless device. Not a very fast signal. If you have a house that has a lot of thick walls that won't work well with a wireless signal or your device absolutely cannot use one this could be a solution. They're really not bad little units, but for most people the price and performance just aren't worth going with this type of Ethernet. If you just need the extended wireless you might try Netgear WGXB102NA
