This is the second Xerox 6R899 I've used in my LaserJet 4P. Number of pages printed on the first was at least as many as promised. The printer doesn't get a lot of use, and the original cartridge lasted at least 5 years with no problems. This new one worked as it should right out of the box. Xerox also includes a label for returning and recycling the spent cartridge. No muss, no fuss, called DHL and they came and picked it up off my doorstep the next business day. Why pay more?

I replaced the OEM (HP) cartridge with no problem. Prints fine. Cost less than a HP cartridge. Maybe a couple of months from now I'll change my mind, but it's working great now.

Worked for one page only. Thereafter - just smeared everything. Learned my lesson - don't cheap out.

Very disappointed with toner cartridge - all printed documents have a 4 inch wide dark grey band going down the full length of the page and did not clear up even after printing about 20-30 pages. Ended up having to reinstall my old, although nearly depleted toner cartridge in order to get clear printouts. Hopefully Xerox will honor their warranty and exchange this defective unit.

Smeared toner over all copies from the beginning. I have had the 4P since 1995 and at this point I am beginning to be a little protective.

The unit I got from databazaar seems to be NOS. (new old stock) But had a current exp. date of March 2010, which is next monthe. Works fine brought life back to my HP 4L. I feel I got a good value with it's purchase.

The cartridge leaks the powdered ink and now my printer is filthy with powdery ink

I had used the new $100 HP replacement toner cartridges and they made my old Lazerjet 4MP run like new. The first time I tried this XEROX 6R899 Toner cartridge on my 4mp, the results where acceptable and adequate for using the printer just for invoicing and text documents but not for pages with heavy graphics. The Xerox toner cartridge lasted for 2 years, just like original $100 HP replacement toner cartridge did. When I replaced my first XEROX 6R899 Toner cartridge with a new XEROX 6R899, the print quality was totally unacceptable. It seems like these Xerox cartridges can shorten the life of your HP Laerjet.

I have been needing to get a faster network laser printer so thanks to the XEROX 6R899 Toner cartridge, I have abandoned my long lived HP Lasejet 4mp and the horrible new Xerox replacement cartridge for a new Laser printer with fast networking and Posctsript Level 3 emulation.

If you want your trusty old Laserjet 4mp to last forever, stick with the more expensive Original HP Laserjet replacement cartridges, not the Xerox alternative.

Just like the title says. If this cartridge lasts as long as the original, I won't have to
buy another cartridge for about 10 years.

this was a great price for a good toner cartridge...much more at local office supply houses...thanks for a great deal!
