They truly built a great card.
Carl Zulauf
This wonderful card runs at 60-63c under full load while the fan is only running at 30-35% and very very quiet.
Bowman75
Can play most game maxed out or with a mixture of high and ultra settings!

I upgraded from a XFX Radeon HD 4670 to this and difference is quite substantial. I was initially worried about heat because my tower is kept in a cubbie that's built in to the desk, but much to my surprise, the card only hits 70c at idle and not much higher than that during game play (though to be fair, I haven't made a serious effort to benchmark performance yet).

My current build looks something like this:
Intel DP55WB
Core i5 750
4096MB PC10600
|XFX Double D R9 270
320GB SATA HDD (Primary)
1TB SATA HDD (Secondary)

So, even with some older hardware, my system is still surprisingly capable. I had been plaything through Arkham Asylum prior to the video card upgrade, and it was playable on medium settings. After the upgrade, I moved up to ultra/extreme/whatever. Prior to the upgrade, BF3 wasn't playable by any stretch of the imagination, but after the upgrade, I can play on high detail and a pretty decent resolution (1680x1050, which is my monitor's max). Team Fortress 2, Bioshock Infinite, and Tomb Raider are the only other games I've tried, and they're all gorgeous at max detail at 1680x1050.

I downgraded to this card and I feel no pain. I had a GTX780. Great card. This is almost as good. It might even have better image quality. I don't know. I am very happy though. It makes me happy when I save money and still get something nice. So, anyway, I needed the dough so I sold my gtx780 (and my overclocked 3770K) and went back to using my old core2quad system (Xeon x5460 overclocked to 3.8ghz). It had a solid old 8800GT which is still a very good card but I needed a bit more than what it could give, without spending much. I Did some research and saw that the r9 270 is the best card for the retail price and it so happens that coin miners are dumping tons of them on ebay for cheap! So, I got mine for $100 which is a steal. If you're debating getting an old 5860, 6850, 7850, 7870, etc, just save yourself the trouble and get the R9 270. I see that right now the card is $160 on Amazon. That is a great deal. Even $200 is a great deal for this tech.

This is a high performance card. I didn't need, because stock performance is good, but I overclocked it (MSI Afterburner) to 1050mhz core/1.5ghz memory, with no additional voltage. Seems it could handle more power and go faster but I see no need. At this overclock the temps never exceed 60C and the fan never goes over 30%, I can't hear it over the ambient noise of my Antec 900 case with fans on low setting. So obviously has lots of headroom. I tweaked Arma2/Dayz mod to look amazing with most settings on Very High/1080P (including very high AA and Very High Anisotropic Filtering) and I'm getting 60fps or so on Arma2 benches and smooth fps of about 60 on populated Dayz servers. That's pretty impressive, especially for such a low priced part that stays so cool and quite with a significant overclock that makes it equal to a 270X.

Runs quiet and plays Battlefield 3/4 and Farcry 3 on very high settings with minimum slowdowns. Does not require a monster power supply and is Mantle ready. A worthwhile purchase if you are not looking at pushing the next gen games at over 1080p.

It is by far an awesome GPU by XFX! I recently built my computer and I paired this with an AMD Athlon X4 750K with 4gb of RAM and man! It runs all the games I have on Ultra. (Currently the "new" games I have is Bioshock Infinite and Borderlands 2) Plays them perfectly! Way better than consoles.
The noise on this GPU is little to nothing. The only thing that makes noise is my crappy CPU stock fan. Other than that I recommend this card! If you want great performance and if youre on a budget. This cards for you!
