excellent videocard for the money,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: XFX Radeon HD 5750 1GB DDR5 PCIE Graphics Card HD575XZNFC (Personal Computers)
I bought the same 5750 videocard from another brand, and it failed after about 1 hour, ( a sticking cooling fan problem).
However, this card has worked flawlessly for over 2 months and is very fast on almost any game I have tried. On most games the framerates are 80+ FPS consistently, and rarely ever fall below 40 FPS, even on the latest games. Crysis which was a virtual slide show with my old videocard, plays reasonably well even on the max settings at modest resolutions like 1024 X 768 or widescreen 720p. It should be fairly futureproof out to 3 years or so I would guess, given the decent speed and DirectX 11 compatibility. At about 140.00 it was well worth the money, although you can now buy some of last years older videocards {ATI 4870 4890) which were faster for about the same money or slightly more, but no direct x 11. The only Direct X 11 game I have played with it so far is Dirt 2, and it played very well, but did not look noticebly better than in direct x 9 mode. But it's nice to feel that I have a card that should provide at least playable framerates {I hope} when more direct x 11 games become the norm.

The card worked fine for months. PC has additional fan directly above. 650 watt power supply. Using 2 DVI displays. Screens suddenly turned white. PC subsequently no longer even gets to POST unless I remove the card and connect via on-board VGA. Tried the card in two different PCs - same result. XFX will make you jump through hoops for RMA. You send it in and they'll "check it out" and get back to you.
I won't be buying any more XFX products. FWIW...10 year IT pro on 200 user network, MSCE, CNE, Comptia A+ certified, yada yada yada. Amazon has always been good to me. XFX - they stink if you have a defective device under warranty and try to exchange it.

Replacement for a Radeon 4670,

To be quite honest this wasn't a buy I was looking forward to: my previous card, a Radeon 4670, began showing signs of "heat stroke." This happened to another older card of mine (Geforce 7900 GS) - danger of living in Hawai'i with no air conditioning in the house!
Anyhow, I ordered this and installed it. Its added extra power to my games, which is to be expected (its about twice as powerful as the 4670). I was rather happy that it came with a power adapter and an HDMI cable (don't need either, but I'd rather have them than not). The dual-slot design makes me feel more comfortable about it since its got a larger heatsink and fan, plus an exhaust. The fact the 5000 series cards run cooler than 4000 series cards (plus use less power when doing non-gaming stuff) is a big plus. Nice thing too is I didn't have to replace my Dell OEM power supply. Your mileage may vary (so do at your own risk) but the Dell's 375w is running it, two harddrives, and a Q6600 at clock speeds. Overall a nice, reasonably priced upgrade.

Great addition for my Quad Core Intel 2.4ghz Q6600 with Windows 7 64bit. Got a Windows Experience Index for Aero at 7.3 and also graphics at 7.3. The bottleneck on my computer now is the SATA 2 hard drive with a Windows Experience Index of 5.9. Graphics and speed are so good that I'm not going to do any more upgrades. I don't feel the need to add a second SATA 2 drive in RAID to increase the drive's and Overall Windows Experience Index. The cpu's index was 7.1 and 4GB DDr2 800 memory's experience index was also 7.1.
Quick and Easy installation. Didn't use the included drivers cd because Windows 7 automatically found and installed the latest drivers for me without the cd. I'm writing this at 72 degrees F room temperature, and my handheld infrared gun shows the backside of the card only up to 112 degrees in spots with my cpu at 110 degrees F. No complaints from me.

Beware flicker with GPU acceleration,
This review is from: XFX Radeon HD 5750 1GB DDR5 PCIE Graphics Card HD575XZNFC (Personal Computers)
Bought this card specifically for great review of video processing from Tom's Hardware. With any video using GPU acceleration (WMV, YouTube) I see static and flicker across the entire screen when the video starts and stops. XFX support was clueless.

I paid I believe $130 for this card through another retailer, and I couldn't be happier with it. I played Splinter Cell: Conviction first after installing this card, and with all settings max, got about 50 FPS, which isn't bad for the price. Everything I play I set to max, and it runs great. I run some games on my TV via HDMI, and it looks flawless as well. Sound quality through the HDMI is actually better than my onboard sound.
I would recommend this to a friend in a heartbeat.

This card is what probably made ATI/Amd over the top,aka better than Nvidia. It's a bit loud, but who cares? It plays all those big games you dreamed of playing and supports Dx11. Its 1gb buffer is more than sufficient for nearly 99% of today's games for smooth game play. Im going to buy another one and then go cross fire. Seriously look at the price.

Good card but a few non-card related quips,

This review is from: XFX Radeon HD 5750 1GB DDR5 PCIE Graphics Card HD575XZNFC (Personal Computers)
I originally got this card for StarCraft II, but it plays all of my other games perfectly fine as well (Resident Evil 5, Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed II, and others). However, one quip is that there are better options for the price at this point in time (such as the 5770), or you can even occasionally find the GTX 460 on sale for < $200, which is a big improvement for 40-$50 more.
However, the card itself runs perfectly fine for what I need it for and I've yet to have a problem with the card itself, hence the 5 stars. Lastly, this must be mentioned because as of today, I believe ATI has yet to address this issue; that is, the occasional cursor glitch (which you can find out the details via search). In retrospect, I'd shy away from ATI cards until this driver issue is amended.

Having freaked out about my previous video card giving up the ghost, I bought this one at the behest of my husband. Installation was a piece of cake, and I was up and running in no time. I am by no means a PC expert and was able to figure it out with a bit of online research and common sense. So far so good - my husband has a few PC games that he plays, and I've never heard him complain so it's working great!

I have had this card for over a month now and it is 100% happy with it. It is Quiet, Fast and does not heat up my case. I registered with XFX for their lifetime warranty so no worries there. I play Crysis, Fallout 3 and they look amazing with good frame rates. I will overclock it soon for performance that is comparable to a 5770. One selling point for me was it's low power consumption. AMD recommends a 550w PSU but I run it with a Corsair 400w power supply and have had no issues at all.
