I also believe that Amazon had the incorrect image for this card when I ordered it. However, the model number was correct and I should have looked closer. It doesn't really matter as it does appear the only difference between the 577X and 577A is the type of cooler installed and no 3x Crossfire support(The 577A does look nicer though). 2.0 out of 5 stars Great while it lasted.
The card was great while it worked. It died on the 31st day and now I have to pay for shipping back to XFX for an exchange or repair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great video card for the price, January 29, 2010

This review is from: XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card HD577XZNFC (Personal Computers)
The card installed very easily and I had no issue getting it working under Windows 7. I would make sure you download and use the latest version of drivers from ATI's website and not use the included CD. I upgraded from an Nvidia 8800 GTS and the increase in performance was significant. My Windows 7 Experience score for graphics went from 6.4 to 7.3 and I have been able to play many games at a lot higher settings than on my 8800. It isn't quite as fast as I was hoping, but I didn't want to pay the price for a 5850 or 5870 right now. So for the price I got a big jump in performance and am very happy with my purchase. Would recommend this product if you are looking for a "best bang for your buck" kind of deal versus hard core gaming performance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent mid-range card, February 16, 2010

This review is from: XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card HD577XZNFC (Personal Computers)
I bought this Radeon 5770 to replace an aging Nvidia 8800GT 512mb. It is much faster in the two games I tried, Left 4 Dead 2 and Mass Effect 2 at 1920x1200 res with full detail. The fan on the single-slot 8800GT was quite loud so the quiet fan on Radeon 5770 was a welcome addition (btw, this is the newer revision "egg-shaped" cooler). My PC dual-purposes as a gaming and HTPC, so HDMI and on-board audio was a must. While ATI's Catalyst Control Center is nowhere near as intuitive as the Nvidia counter-part, I was able to get everything setup how I wanted using a 42" Panasonic Viera plasma tv (hdmi), and a 24" Soyo monitor (dvi). I did find out that I could not plug in a 3rd monitor (2 DVI, 1 HDMI) unless I used the DisplayPort connection. Bummer. DVI to VGA converter and PCI-E to molex power adapter are included. Great bang-for-the-buck card.

Searching for a new video card can be a daunting process, but I didn't need to search any further after finding the XFX HD 5770 PCIe video card.

When looking to upgrade video cards for my wife's Dell, I was limited by the fact that the machine only has a single six-pin video card power plug. Most of the newer and more powerful cards require multiple power connections to run - this 5770 did not. So not only did I get a card that met my power and space requirements, I got a DirectX 11 compatible card with stellar performance. For the money, I am not sure that there is a better card out there - I definitely did not see a comparable card with an nVidia chip that was in this price point with this performance.

The bundle with the card is great - XFX has a great reputation in the industry and I have been pleased with their products in the past. Overall, this might be one of the best video card purchases I've made - the last time I was this impressed with a video card was when I got my first 3dfx Voodoo 3 (if you owned one of those, you know what I am talking about!).

This is a great card for the price and if you are using Windows-7 and have at least one monitor with a DP port. The advertising is not clear about those requirements. Even ATI tech support had to refer me further upstream to find out if the card works with XP. It doesn't.

I purchased two cards, hoping to setup two workstations with 3-monitors each, for business applications on XP machines. Nothing worked right. Bottom line: I had to purchase two new monitors with DP ports because the third monitor MUST connect to the DP port and it can't be via a passive DP to DVI adapter - it has to be direct or via a $110.00 active converter. The converters are out of stock, nation-wide.

But even the DP monitors did not solve the problem. After much frustration, I learned that the operating system has to be Windows-7 in order to support three monitors. So I upgraded to Windows-7, even though I had no other reason to do so.

There are still more issues: Even with only two monitors on XP, the setup is not stable and has to be re-done on nearly every re-boot. On Windows-7, the ATI software interface won't run at all - you only get to use the resident Windows-7 control panel. These problems are known by ATI but are not advertised.

Both XFX and ATI support seem ignorant of the problems and each had to do research for each and every issue. XFX was never able to answer all my questions.

Once setup with Windows 7 and a DP monitor, it works fine and is stable.

I encourage Amazon, XFX and ATI to put these facts up front so consumers know what they are getting into.

Update: We've been using the cards with three monitors for several months now, with no problems. We love them. Again: Only works with Windows-7 and one monitor must have a DP port. We tried several monitors and we chose the Dell U2410. It has the DP port and excellent graphics, and the price is reasonable.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, July 28, 2010

This card is amazing. I bought an HP computer a few weeks ago that has a fast processor and 8 gigs of ram. The graphics, however, were integrated and sucked. After playing a few games on it, I found that I could only play games on low-quality graphic settings. This encouraged me to buy a graphics card.

After doing some research I bought this card. I received the card earlier today, installing it was fairly easy.

To put things in perspective, last night I was playing StarCraft 2 on 'Low' settings, now the recommended settings are 'Ultra'!! It is playing flawlessly with these settings! My jaw literally dropped when I saw how much of a difference this card made. My windows index score for graphic changed from 4.4 to 7.4, and gaming graphics score changed from 5.4 to 7.4 (7.9 is the highest).

Mind you, I have never even thought of buying and installing a graphics card, I always pictured geek squad or a friend doing it for me. But after watching some instructional YouTube videos, it seemed like an easy process, which it was.

If you want to upgrade your gaming graphics, and this card fits your budget, then buy it! I honestly think paying more for a card would be pointless.

However, my screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 (21 inches). If my screen was bigger with a higher resolution, then I would probably have to buy a more expensive card if I wanted 'Ultra' settings. Also, make sure you have at least a 500W power supply (450 is recommended on the box). I bought a 500W OCZ modXstream power supply from amazon and it is working fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Check your specs!!, December 27, 2010
This review is from: XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card HD577XZNFC (Personal Computers)
I put this on my Christmas wishlist and my wife bought it for me. Like a dummy, I only checked to make sure my pc would support pci express. I didn't even consider the power supply or whether it would even fit.

I have a Dell Dimension e510. It only has a 305w power supply and this card requires a minimum of 400w (600w recommended I think). Also, the way the e510's case is, it won't physically fit. The e510 can only support a single width pci-e video card.

That really sucked because this was a really kick butt looking card. I had to send it back and find something else.

Lesson learned...

This card is amazing it gives rich definition on my new 24 inch LCD screen with resolution of 1920 x 1280 is doing its job, was even capable of running Final Fantasy XIV, which i didn't really stick to because is not a great game. The card is very silent, not overclocked of course, i do not want to void the warranty on it.
Installation was easy, I didn't expect it to be so big but it fit just right.

Ordered on 4th Feb with amazon free Super Saver Shipping, it left on the 6th feb from 'Seller facility', arrived 8th feb in Lexington KY and then finally to Miami on the 10th feb. I got it in Trinidad 2 days later via a skybox.

It runs nfs shift, COD 5, COD 6, at 1920x1080 with AA 2x on and full effects with no choking and before overclocking. The stock clock is 850mhz and the included ATI control center utility tests the highest stable speed for you. I think mines went up to 925 mhz but I still have it on 850 since I am not seeing a difference at the higher clock. The utility also gives you manual control of the gpu fan. The reported temp reaches 70 degrees celcius while gaming with the fan on auto so when I remember I put the fan to about 70%. At that speed I can hear it running and it does not get that loud on auto. I made a profile in the utility with the higher fan speed and switch to it when gaming. I do not think the shape of the plastic cover would help with the heat dissipation, I have a 120mm fan on the back of my case and a 120mm in the power supply and there is a vent on the side door next to the video card also so air flow is not a problem. In fact the temp is the same with or without the side door on.

I had a problem of the screen showing black but the lcd staying on when the lcd was supposed to go to sleep when you leave the pc alone. That was using catalyst 10.1 drivers and it was fixed with 10.2.

I absolutely recommend this card. I bought it for $170 with free shipping but it is now $160 with free shipping so an even better deal. It comes with a 4 pin molex to 6 pin PCI-E power adapter and a DVI to VGA adapter. There is also a Do Not Disturb door hanger (pic uploaded), nice idea.

This is an excellant video card for the price. Using it it a new build, MSI mb w/i7 920 processor, 8 gig of memory, 2 1 terebyte drives, win 7 pro, corsair water cooler. This card runs everything I throw at it at full settings without dropped frames. I would recommend this card for anyone building on a budget.

This is a very powerful and fast video card, I never buy ATi in my life, always was only NVidea, but I all the time preferred XFX. With this new experience with ATi I am very happy, because I like every single detail about the card, the box, the drivers, the software, the instructions, the door hanger, the adapter (DVI - VGA), the fan, the heat sink. I recommend this product because in my criteria work perfectly, COD4 WM, and COD4 WM2, WOW, and Windows 7 run excellent in every detail.
