I got this as a replacement when my motherboard graphics when out. Easy to install and now I am running two monitors at the same time. Seems like an impressive performance upgrade but I don't play too many games on this system, just multimedia stuff. It did ship in just a padded envelope so next time I know to have product ship directly from Amazon

In case you aren't familiar with graphics cards or computer parts, this card isn't very fast, nor is it intended to be.

With that said, I purchased this to connect my computer with my new LED tv & Pioneer receiver via HDMI. It works fantastic for uses such as this. The card has a pretty consistent load of 40% while streaming video with a temperature of about 45 degree's celcius, depending on how cool my house is.

Let me first start by saying that I use Linux, so all of you Windows people may want to take this review with a grain of salt.

Now that we have got that out of the way let me say that I love this card. I am not a big technology buff, but when my computer needs repairing I know how to open it up, find out what is wrong, and do the research to fix it. After a little research on how to upgrade my particular system (Made by Velocity Micro) I found out that that this was the card that I needed and it worked great. It was better than my old card (which went up) and it made the graphics on my Linux system look and act even better than before.

My only advice is that you do your research and find out if this card is best for your system. Try to look your motherboard up on the internet and get the specs on it, and if necessary compare this card to the graphics card that is in your system (If Amazon hasn't changed the picture there should be a view on here where you can see the specs for this graphics card). You should also check your power supply (I had to upgrade mine to work with this), motherboard, and memory to see if you have enough of each to power this card. Also if you don't know how to upgrade your graphics card look on youtube for some video's and you should be able to learn how. My computer is a gaming system that I bought back in 2010 with upgraded memory (8GB) and power supply (600 Watts) I have had this card since February and it's still going strong so if your computer can take it I would definitely recommend it. Just plug it in and use the open source driver - nothing to install or configure, and it works perfectly. Suitable for light gaming, flawless video, and desktop use.

i received this card as a b-day gift
i had a 1 GB 5450 in my computer until i received this
the box i received this card in was the box for a 1 gb 5450
i soon came to determine that this card is actually a 6450 as the numbers and heatsink all match up to the picture shown here

now onto the review:
compared to the 5450 this card has some better features such as HD3D
this card does not support crossfire but who would want to do that any way
this card is excellent if you use a Pentium 4 or d and want to modernize it for win 7 or 8
excellent for movies and movie up-scaling perfect for light users or people that are trying to build a quiet Home theater PC(HTPC)
i don't recommend it for extreme gaming but i was able to play saint row the third on mid graphics at 20-30 fps with 4 gb ram and Pentium D 820 minecraft is alright as well

I was using a Nvidia GT430 in my HTPC combined with my Yamaha RX-V471 Receiver but everytime I turned it on I would lose all sound. So I bought the HD 6450,installed and everything worked right out of the box.I am an Nvidia fan but this works really well and would recomend this for any HTPC setup.

This is a good product with plenty of features at a very reasonable cost. They are quiet and have all the lastest video connections popular at this time. The continued excellent warranty was a major factor in my purchase as well.

I am a big fan of XFX products. This XFX Radeon 6450 has a great picture and works well. XFX makes quality products.
I love fan-less video cards. For the price you get a lot of bang for your bucks. Works well with Linux and Windows. The HDMI
is a must have and 1 GB of memory gives excellent performance. I build a lot of computers and I use this XFX video card in
most of my new builds.. I can depend on XFX products. You can not go wrong with this XFX Radeon 6450..
