Used it to pump up my Cannondale headshock. There are no instructions, so you have to figure out how to release it without loosing presure. Or, you could read this.
Screw it on gripping the brass.
Unscrew gripping the red knob.
Then unscrew to remove gripping the brass.

Not sure why they put a pressure release (red button next to dial).

I had been using a more expensive pump which always leaked some while removing. This one was cheaper, and worked 400 psi better.

When I learned that I didn't need an actual Fox-branded pump, I took a look at the XLC High Pressure shock pump. It is able to do up to 400 PSI, and features a flexible steel-braided hose that rotates around to help you get to the shock fittings without any trouble. I particularly like the two-stage valve attachment, which lets me attach and detach the pump without that initial loss of air pressure thanks to the separate center valve screw on the pump end. Some people who reviewed the pump complained of pressure loss, but there is a correct way to attach the pump:

1. Unscrew the pink center knob of the valve attachment all the way out.
2. Screw the outer gold ring first onto the Schrader valve, make sure you don't turn the pink knob.
3. Once the gold outer ring is securely threaded onto the Schrader valve, then go ahead and dial in the pink screw to open the valve itself.

By following the instructions above, you can keep the air loss to a minimum. The push button air release is nice, but make sure you tap it briefly (remember you're dealing with high pressures here), or you'll lose air pressure quick! The pump works well, is compatible with both Fox and Rockshox (again, you don't have to buy the 'branded" versions, they all do the same thing!) and the price is right for those who can't break the bank.

This shock pump offers higher pressure capabilities than other pumps and features an intuitive chuck design to prevent air loss when disconnecting the pump. Highly recommended.

I am a mechanical engineer and usually nit pick products on there shortcomings and think about how to make a product better. I have NO complaints about this product though. Quality parts, nice operation. looks like pump will last a LONG time and with the great price its a sure winner.

I was very surprised at quality and design of this pump. I purchased mine on sale but would gladly have paid the full price.

The connectors are well crafted and articulate to any position allowing you easy access to the valve and read the guage. The steel braided line and quality of the other components give the impression that this pump will last a long time.

The rose collered knob atop the main brass fitting allows users to disconnect the main fitting without air loss from the shock (clockwise to fill, counter-clockwise to release the schrader core).

One of the best products i've purchased in a long time!

I don't really know what makes the more expensive pumps, well, more expensive. This one does the job just fine. Yeah, it doesn't come with instructions. If you examine it closely, you should be able to figure it out, but if not ... make sure the smaller (colored) knob is screwed in, screw onto the valve using the brass knob, inflate to desired pressure, unscrew the smaller (colored) knob, detatch using the brass knob. It works great, it's small enough to stuff into my pack, and you can't beat the price.

Hey, its a simple pump right? Works quite well although pump pressures to 400 psi seems like overkill. Rather have a bit lower range with greater accuracy across scale. No instructions but examination of pump head coupled with some common sense will quickly impart the drill. Note that the upper colored knurled knob controls the valve pressure core. Used properly no air will be lost during removal of the pump from the shock valve. Very good overall quality. 4 stars rather than 5 due to loose rubber bumper on one end of the braided hose, easily fixed with dab of silicone adhesive.

The pump works well. There are two twisting knobs on the end, the red one that retracts the pin that allows you to pump air, and the golden one surrounding it which screws onto the shock. I believe the red knob is there to release the pump without releasing air, but the removal process leaks around 10-15 psi regardless. I just pump above what is necessary then remove it. If you can't afford to have pressure above where you plan to pump to then it could be an issue, it's not for me.
