I bought this inverter to use on my family trip because I liked the size and the price was right for me. I didn't know how well it would work compared to other inverters out there, but I was willing to give it a try.

Well, it works great! It provides enough energy to charge either my phone or iPod via the USB, as well as power my laptop. I especially like using it with my laptop.

Being that it is white, it doesn't get too hot. Actually, it hardly gets hot at all. It is also extremely quiet, which is great it you are trying to listen to music, talk on the phone, or listen to your GPS.

All in all, this works great for me and my needs, and hopefully it will for you as well!

For $15 this unit is a GREAT value.

While I did not tax this unit's limits, I found it worked perfectly. We needed to power our portable DVD player for a long vacation drive. The car cord that game with it had broken and it would have be impossible to track down a compatible one so I figured I'd just use the AC cord and an inverter and then I could also use the inverter for other tasks.

Driving the DVD player, this unit made zero noise and remained 100% cool to the touch. We ran it for two ten hour drives with no problems.

I imagine it would work just as well for any other low-power devices like PDAs, phones, video hand-held games.

Whether it would run or charge a laptop computer, I do not know. My guess is it would handle charging and maybe also run a smaller laptop.

For $15, this one can't be beat. There's no reason to spend $30 to get one named after a battery. I was a little leery of buying the cheapest one but it turned out to be a smart move. This unit is perfect for a small quiet unit.

If comparing to other units, be sure to check whether the wattage listed is peak or continuous. You want to compare the continuous wattage. Forget peak wattage; it's marketing hype. Check the specs on your car. Be sure to read on the wattage on your lighter outlets. There's no point buying an inverter with a continuous wattage higher than the limit (unless you plan to wire it directly to the battery).

I do know that our Toyota Venza has specced a 100W limit on the lighter outlets to there's little benefit to buying a larger inverter than this one for that vehicle. I didn't check the specs on my Ford 500 but know it has a 20Amp fuse in the console lighter circuit so it might be able to run 200W continuous.
