If you're not careful, this book will have you knitting up beads just to knit them and work them into something in the future.

This book is for anyone who wants to learn to bead with their knitting, but mostly for those who want to explore their creative side. The author truly inspires those willing to take this journey. And supplies enough technical information for those right-brain people out there to excel in their hidden creativity.

First, I did a quick count on the items included. They are:

Necklaces 12
Bracelets 7
Belt 2
Earrings 3
Scarf 2
Suspenders 2
Evening bag 1
Skullcap 1
Holiday ornament 2
Ear warmer 1

As you can see, the focus is on jewelry (with other assorted items). Please note also that all the items make much use of small beads, nothing gaudy here.

As for the layout of the book, early on there is a 'How to use the book' two page spread which details how to get the most from the information presented. It shows how each pattern introduces the project first and specifics are then discussed such as beads used, yarn, colors, and yardage. Any special technique illustration is shown along with the finished measurements and suggested needle size. I like the "What if...?" box in each pattern that goes into other ways one could wear the project or 'embellish' the pattern, changing it to be more of your own design. And lastly, there is a unique suggested skill box going much further into detail about who should attempt the pattern and what makes the item the level it is. Many are advanced, but there is something for everyone's abilities here.

Next, there is a section on Beading Basics. This will get anyone knitting these items in no time as there is quite a nice level of detail without it looking too overwhelming.

This book is awesome. The photography is stunning and inspiring; the patterns are well written and easy to understand; the book is arranged with a wonderful selection of projects that will give the knitter forward momentum and the skills to create her own designs. The source guide is well organized with numerous personal notations from the author. I pre-ordered this book from Amazon when the publication was announced. It was well worth the wait !

This is a beautifully photographed book, but I was a little disappointed with the degree of detail in the directions/explanations when I sat down to try to make some of the items. I started with the spiral necklace, and eventually understood how to make purl I cord, but felt this could have been explained in more detail so I would not have to get it by trial and error. The book did inspire me to start working with beads in knitting, though, so I am happy about that. I would say you must be a confident knitter to work with this book.

Beautiful book, lovely pictures, BUT Do NOT Buy This Book if You Are Over 40.
The instructions are printed in (probably) an 8-pt font and are not even printed in black, but grey.
This book was not made for knitters that want readable instructions, but for those that just want to look at pretty pictures and then put the book on the shelf.
50% of many of the instruction pages are blank space; maybe this is the publisher's decision in order to save on ink.
Be forewarned.

The lady who wrote the book teaches a course at Craftsy.com It is called Brilliant Knit Beads. She is really good, and very thorough. You can also ask questions and she'll answer. You'll find out where to purchase various beads, the ones that are good and the ones that aren't.

I like the book overall, but some of the projects are a little too homemade and crafty looking to suit my taste. Luv the I-cords and instructions. A large-sized book with nice color pictures.

This book is incredible. The pictures are gorgeous. Even if you don't knit this is a gorgeous book to read through. The patterns are well explained. There are a variety of skill levels for the many patterns. There are so many items I want to make from this book. I can't wait to get started.

I absolutely love the book. It is perfect for me -a knitter, a beader and a left brainer. I bought 4 copies of the book - 2 as Christmas presents for friends, 1 for my guild's library and 1 for myself.
