Pretty But Unfulfilling, December 13, 2007
This review is from: XS Hybrid Volume 2 (v. 2) (Paperback)
Let me begin by saying that the artwork in this manwha is amazing, and that the story holds great potential. However, the fault of the manwha is held in the latter of its two strong points. It seems that the series is continuing to build its potential for its climactic ending, but because of this the story seems to get lost in itself.
The second installment of this series has the same problem as the first, although not to the same degree. The entire manwha is just more character and story development, which is generally a good thing, admittedly. However, the manner of building these elements is done through mystery. After reading the first volume, i felt unfulfilled because of all the questions left unanswered and the questions that never even seemed to be addressed that i had would have liked in the first volume. I read the second volume in order to fix this lack of fulfillment, and although it answers some questions, it does not answer nearly enough. This series is either just milking as much as possible in order to get people's money, or the series will have one of the most beautiful endings that would surely even make Hitler cry tears of joy.
So, if one has read the first volume do not expect this to be an enlightening purchase. For those who are just considering purchasing it for a good read, you better be prepared for the long haul.
