4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting mix of action, mystery & a little comedy!
A great read! This first volume just begins to divulge the secrets of the "hybrids" while still leaving enough out that you can't wait to read the next book. Along side the story of the main characters, there's all kinds of mystery surrounding others that show up. Not to mention, it's action-packed & also can be quite humorous.

What a great artist. Yep that's my review.
Book isn't worth reading. Maybe this guy should think about doing art books instead. The storytelling is non-existent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reads like lightning, October 25, 2008

I have read the first three books and ordered the forth. If you are looking for a quick read with lots of action then this is a great comic. The story line is very light but deepens as the series contenues as it seems to try to keep the readers in the same state as the veriouse characters, which is, having scattered clumps of information but no idea as to whats realy going on, only that with every plot seqeunce that occures so deepen the sence of dark forboding and erratic chaos that the first three volumes inspire. Reading XS is like watching a fast paced action film but with an element of mistery thrown in to highten the ankst.
The art is good for a manga. the lines are sketchy but the artists perspective is usualy very clear, making it easy on the eyes as well as simple to disern the focus of each frame and what your suposed to be looking at, as can be a problem in other manga were a scene can become so busy it's hard to tell what anything is.
I have enjoyed the first three volumes and found each better than the last. The only reason I did not rate XS at a five is because of length. With it's fast pace I found myself frustrated at having finished reading it so quickly and wishing it was longer, not altogether a bad thing.
