Get the best charger that you can reasonably afford.

With an 18650 there are slight raised edges for the battery to rest against and if it does, it makes perfect contact with the top and bottom connections.

If you still use AA rechargeable with your flashlights I recommend you switch to 18650s now.

I'm giving this charger 5 stars for value. I bought one from an e-cig vendor about a month ago to charge my AW 18350 and 18650 batteries. While this is my first experience using a charger with 'large' batteries I have used other chargers in the past.

The sliders are pretty easy to slide back as I insert the negative side of the battery to the slider and slide it back until the positive end drops in. With an 18650 there are slight raised edges for the battery to rest against and if it does, it makes perfect contact with the top and bottom connections.

The slider does not close enough to make contact and charge an 18350, but 2 thumbscrew spacers are included that screw into the positive connection and allow a shorter battery to reach the positive contact.

I first heard about this charger after hearing that some vapers had used the WP2 to use pre-charged batteries and the USB output port to charge their cell phones when Hurricane Sandy knocked out power in NY & NJ. The included cigarette lighter adapter would allow you to charge your batteries in a car, then take the unit indoors to charge whatever you needed to via the USB port. A good 2000 to 3000 mAh 18650 battery should be able to add a good amount of charge to most cell phones.

It isn't perfect. When charging an 18350 I need to be sure the positive end is touching the connection, especially when I use 'only' two of the screw connector thingies. the sides of the charger bays are lower in the middle than at the top and bottom. An 18350 sits in the middle of the unit, whereas an 18650 is long enough to have the curved sides hold it snugly from top to bottom.

This charger was purchased after seeing it review on CandlePowerForum. They gave it a great rating. It is very simple to operate and although it charges a bit slowly, that will help extend the life of the batteries it charges. I recommend this product for people who charge a few times a month, to one or two batteries a day. If you have more charging to do than 2 a day, you will want a faster charger, or perhaps 2 of these.

I rate this unit with 5 stars. This is a top quality product that charges and conditions your Li-Ion 18650 batteries as well as other Li-Ion batteries. The key to long life with these batteries is to charge them properly and not to over or under charge them. This way you can maximize the 300+ charges you will get from these batteries. Read more about the device on Amazon.com. However the primary reason I bought this charger is that by placing a single 18650 Li-Ion battery into the charging slot you can plug in any device that needs to be charged by the use of a USB cable. This way I can charge cell phones or my GPS hand held device. I would imagine you can charge several devices this way with only on 18650 battery. This would be especially useful if you are on a camping trip with no AC outlet needed to charge these devices. So it works great and gives me confidence that the 18650 batteries I use for all our flashlights are being charged properly.

Great charger but there is a newer much nicer one out there now. Search for XTAR VP1. I have both and use one at work and one at home. If you still use AA rechargeable with your flashlights I recommend you switch to 18650s now. You're just wasting your time with flashlights that take 8 double As. More batteries to handle and less run time....but we're getting off topic here.

I do recommend it.

It performs as advertised. It is a great kit; it has all the components you need to be able to use it just the way you want to. My only complaint is that the red vs green of the lights is quite subtle and I need to get close to be able to distinguish.

This is the second charger that i bought for charging 18650 batteries. This one was of much better value than the first charger that I bought. Both I would consider a budget charger. If you were on the fence like me. Do your research, you will get directed to buy this one. It's probably the best bang for the buck in the budget arena.

Wrap a piece of electrical tape around the battery so it doesn't fall out of the charger and you can charge your ipod, ipad, whatever. Also this charges batteries quickly. Get some decent batteries tho, there are some really terrible ones out there. Get a minimum of a 3100 mAH 18650 Lithium-ion battery. This new technology battery has made some incredibly bright flashlights possible. I own 2 zebralights using this battery, one with 900 lumens, and a 500 lumen head lamp. I consider both of them invaluable and am never without one. (I'm an engineroom snipe) I'd give it 5 stars but it's somewhat ugly.
