Biography

Anthony Hamilton’s voice just keeps getting better with time.

The Grammy Award winner’s arresting voice—a favorite staple on the scene since 2003—recently provided the perfect accompaniment to Jill Scott’s earthy vocals on the captivating duet “So in Love.” Their dynamic pairing also set a record: 18 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Urban Adult Contemporary chart, tying with Maxwell for the most… Read more in Amazon's Anthony Hamilton Store

5.0 out of 5 stars The real debut album from Anthony.... XTC... a lost all time classic album, September 4, 2011
This review is from: XTC (Audio CD)
The Amazon Bio submitted above is unfortunately INCORRECT. 'XTC' was NEVER RELEASED. Anthony Hamilton's debut album was to be originally released on MCA Records. Advance Promo's of the album were sent out by the record label that Autumn. However the album ended up being shelved due to internal label politics. My best guess why, is probably due to the luke-warm sales of the lead single 'Nobody Else' which was released that summer.

Although Anthony has gone on to record and release some great 'organic' R&B albums. XTC however remains my favorite probably because I thought it was the perfect blend between Hip Hop and Soul. (It's a big statement but..).. if XTC not the best R&B album of the 90's, it's definitely the best not to be released. This is a lost classic which unfortunately may never be officially released by the copyright owner likely to be the record label MCA records. What a shame......

By the way, this item is only available on the official factory pressed MCA promo CD (NEVER a BURNED CDR). Genuine/authentic pressings are silver and hallmarked.
