Good pad for a good price,
By Buddy (Alabama) - See all my reviews

This mouse pad is actually a lot better than I expected. It has a smooth, but slightly textured surface for the mouse to glide on, which it does. I'm not sure if the printed graphic pattern actually makes a difference or not, but it definitely looks better than your average pad. The only reasons I didn't give it five stars are because the plastic surface has started to peel off the corner closest to my keyboard (which may actually be the fault of my keyboard, since I usually have the two butted right up against one another), and every now and then I have to adjust the position of the pad (it doesn't slide out of place, but instead you will notice that it moves a few millimeters out of place at a time, and so after a while you will need to re-adjust its position).

Great pad for precision movements such as gaming or photo editing,
By EdP. (Tennessee) - See all my reviews

I have used this mouse for over 4 years now and it has performed phenominally. I do a significant amount of gaming and photo editing with my PC and this pad performs beautifully in both regards. The slightly-textured, yet still-smooth surface offers nice mouse movements with enough feedback to help you control your rate of movement to the pixel level.
The one issue I have had with this pad is that the textured surface is now starting to come off. It is making the mouse feet dirty and causing some grabbing, so the mouse doesn't move as smoothly as it once did. Again, it has been 4 years, so could just be that I have used it longer than the life expectancy of a gaming mouse pad. If you are using your mouse pad for simple functions like email, internet surfing, etc you probably don't need this one. However, if you are a gamer, like a nice amount of mousing surface (it's about the size of a normal sheet of paper), and prefer a little feedback from your mouse pad, this is a GREAT one to get. As an additional piece of information, I use the Logitech MX510 mouse. Great compatibility between the two. For those who have been complaining about the "mouse freak-out" problem, you should switch to a different mouse. The pad won't solve your problem there.

Initially great...,

This mouse pad is very smooth, and on the first few uses was a delight to use because of this - it tracked evenly and the mouse flowed over the surface lightly. However, after only a few uses, I began to have major problems because of the smooth surface - the light from the mouse would bounce back in odd directions, causing my pointer to jump around the screen. Returning to my old, course mouse pad corrected the issue.

I'm not an expert in optical mice, but I have noticed the "mouse freak-out" problem for months and I thought there was nothing that could be done about it. Then I noticed how stained and grundgy my eight year old mousepad was and decided it was time for a replacement. I went shopping for mouse pads and found this one whose creators claim is optimized for optical mice.
Well, that would kill two birds with one stone, I thought. I bought it, and it looks cool and it matches my Microsoft optical mouse and my computer and my keyboard, and it stays glued to my desk. However, my mouse still does the old freak-out and occasionally the pointer jumps across the screen. I do think it may be happening less often, however. So, the mouse still freaks out, but I have a very cool and easy to use color coordinated mousepad. Certainly a step in the right direction, and I didn't exactly have to mortgage the farm to buy it. Postscript: I've concluded after a few weeks of use that my mouse (pointer) doesn't "freak out" and jump around the screen any less often than it did before. So, the primary purpose of this product is lost on me.

I don't know what compelled me to buy this. It's quite thin but the pattern is absolutely hideous. When I take my laptop around nothing screams "NERD GAMER" like this keyboard.
It was a pretty thin keyboard for its time and lasted several years. It got bent once slightly on accident and the edges began to crack at the bend and scratch my wrist. Corners also began peeling up from the foam, but again this was after about 2 years of constant use (hello WoW). It worked well and a while for what I paid for.

I use an ancient Logitech MX700 mouse with this pad and it works incredibly. Pad is four years old and starting to de-laminate and curl. Now I have to buy a new one. Still 4 years of heavy use is acceptable. I use this primarily for AutoCAD drafting and the accuracy in the way the laser reads this pad is incredible. I can move the cursor faster and with greater ease. I wish it wasn't so expensive for a thin sheet of plastic!!

This mouse pad starts out great, but after a little use the mouse starts sticking to the pad and when I hold it up to the light I can see shiny areas on the mouse pad, also it seems to have scratched my new mouse feet too. Yes, I bought new mouse feet because I thought maybe it was the old mouse feet on my mouse, but now I'm confident this mouse pad had something to do with it. After a day or so of use, every time I go to make little movements with the mouse it sticks at first and I have to push to compensate, and then once the mouse unsticks from the pad it shoots off and I have to bring the mouse back, which basically makes fine movements impossible and frustrating.
If you want a smooth glide mouse pad I wouldn't recommend this one.

I bought this mouse-pad because it was the only plastic mouse-pad that wasn't a small circle pad or cost 50 dollars(how anyone can spend that much on a mouse-pad eludes me).
However I have to say this is an excellent mouse-pad it sticks to my table perfectly without budging and it really does improving tracking.

I use a Logitech Cordless Click! Plus mouse, and I was surprised to see -- having been a phone-support tech in the early days of optical mice and recalling the issues people had with patterned mousepads and optical technology -- that the patterning on this one was subtle enough not to cause coordinate jumps or pointer-going-missing problems as had often been the case in those early days. I'd read a customer review here that made some mention of the pad's tendency to slip and shift occasionally; so far it has done neither with me. I recommend it for anyone looking to get beyond the pressed-felt-on-rubber kind of mousepad when they "graduate" to optical mice.
And the price is perfect as well. |
