A first impressions semi-review. I have had the pad now for about a month and my impressions have not changed since doing this video review. I really enjoy it and will be sticking with it over any other product available currently on the market.

I also have the Fat Mat from Xtrac Pads and will be doing a review of it soon.

I have used lots of different mouse pads. Hard ones, soft ones, plastic, metal, millimeter thin and centimeter thick. This is the best one so far.

Because of its size this is really not a mouse pad, it's a keyboard and mouse pad, or a desk pad if you will. I have my keyboard in the center of it and I still have more than enough space to use my mouse on both sides of the keyboard. I switch between my left and right hand often to minimize mouse arm problems, and it is nice not to have to move the mouse pad together with the mouse, or have two pads.

It does attract some dust and stuff, but it is easily vacuumed or brushed away. You can even throw it in the washing machine when it becomes dirty or if you spill stuff on it. Don't know if that is recommended by the manufacturer, but I've done it and it worked nicely.

It stays put on your desk and will not slip around. It is also not thick enough to be "fluffy" but it is still soft to the touch.

It has more friction than the teflon coated plastic ones when they are new, but it does not become scratched and rugged with time. It is good for gaming. I am not a hardcore gamer anymore, but when I do game it works great. The biggest upside, though, is that it makes your computer experience nicer and more ergonomical if you spend lots of time in front of your computer, like me.

A tip: If you need several good and cheap normal mouse pads, you can buy this and easily cut it into eight regular size mouse pads.

i am an avid gamer, gaming anywhere from 5-12 hours a day. my mouse pad is VERY important. i used to use the steelpad 4-d. it was nice but lost all its abrasive side making it too smooth for my mx518. I bought some new mouse feet and this. it works amazing. i put my keyboard on it so it doesnt slide around anymore. the pad allows for very precise aiming. though i STILL run out of room sometimes but that may be my fault because i am a low sensitivity shooter. the biggest problem with this mat is that it LOVES lint/hair/dust. i am always blowing cat hair (and my hair) out of the optical area of the mouse. the best thing i found to clean this is to get a lint roller and lightly go over the pad. but do not go over the edges! like a rug, going over the edges starts to loosen the stitching and would eventually make the mat start falling apart. the mat is very useful otherwise.

glide: depends on sensitivity of gamer. for low - 9/10
size: HUGE. biggest out there. 7/10
crafting: durable. washes well if something spills (like toothpaste) 8/10
value: biggest selling point of the pad. 25 bucks is CHEAP - 10/10
mobility: for lans may be too big - 5/10

I bought two of these XtrAC Ripper Xxl Gaming Pad items, one for my son who is a gamer, and one for me. He loves if for the games. I have done computer graphics for years and have been fighting with my mouse pad constantly for room to move around to create things. This thing is awesome for doing digital art and shouldn't just be considered for gaming. I would give it more stars if I could.

This thing's pretty big. I don't have a huge desk, but it barely fits nicely without having things overlap on it. The pad is super comfortable, has a nice slick black look to it, and is easy to use a mouse on. I don't find it sliding around or having any issues with it. There's no fraying or issues in terms of structure. Others have commented on a smell, but I didn't notice any when I opened it. Shipping was average with regards to time, but I'm definitely pleased with the product.

Small goes away quickly, and mildly high tech when it's new anyway, so not a bother.

I have not noticed any "fraying" at the edges, which one reviewer mentioned, but of course individual units can vary.

I really like having the big work surface, all at one level, and it spans the seam in my workstation's work surface, which is also nice. And having your bare arms rest on the pad is a bit more pleasant than on the bare (sometimes cold) work surface.

It does attract (or make more visible) little bits of white cube flotsam, not a big deal, you can sweep it away with your hand, though takes a couple passes since the surface has more grip than a bare work surface. And I suppose you could use a bit of sticky tape if you wanted to clean a bunch of dust off.

One thing I've noticed is that where your skin frequently meets the front of the pad it picks up a slight shiny spot. Noticeable IF you looked for it after a few weeks of daily use, but still not bad after 3 months. AND I've noticed this on other large mouse pads, so no worse on this one, except maybe the black background shows it a bit more than a gray surface might. But I still prefer the black.

I chose to put the fabric surface up, so the bottom rubber grips the desk, but still slides a tiny bit over the course of a couple days. No big deal to adjust it, I like it exactly even with the edge of the work surface, which is where my wrists rest (and OK, a bit OCD) I suppose you could put it upside down, the the bare rubber facing up; would probably slide on a desk a bit more, but maybe some small percentage of people would prefer it.

I rotated it 180 degrees (still fabric side up) so that their white logo is at the back left corner and less noticeable, vs.
