Regarding the missing "violin" song...,
This review is from: XXX: State of the Union (Audio CD)
For those interested, the "violin" song played during the party was "VICTORY", performed by BOND, (Haylie Ecker, Eos Chater, Tania Davis & Gay-Yee Westerhoff...yes that's 4 girls, not 3), and I too was very entertained by the entire movie, its soundtrack with ALL the various numbers a very pleasing experience for me. BOND has their own web site, Amazon.com also has their albums available. I just wish I could find their 3 videos they have produced.

Those Awesome Chicks,

This is a great soundtack as every song is mint. Sad that they did not chose to add the Awesome and talented group BOND. Yes that is the group playing at the party where Icecube is wearing the Tux. I know there is an earlier entry wanting to know who they are. This 52 year old enjoyed the hell out of the movie and CD!!

Rap & Rock Collide,
This review is from: XXX: State of the Union (Audio CD)
Jive Records recently released the soundtrack XXX State of the Union: Music From The Motion Picture. The music is high energy and you can only imagine that when the movie opens later this week it matches the energy of the soundtrack. The first single is the song "Get XXX'D" by J-Kwon featuring Petey Pablo and Ebony Eyez. You remember J-Kwon from his hit single "Tipsy." This is a great soundtrack song.
Ice Cube, the films star is at his best on the track "Anybody Seen The PoPo's?" Ice Cube may be an actor/producer/director but he prooves that he can still carry a track on his own. He even addresses Bill Cosby on this track. Bill Cosby has made several controversal comments about the African-American community in the past year and a half. Pimp My Ride host Xzibit teams up with hard rock group Korn for a remake of the Public Enemy classic "Fight The Power." It would be easy to say that they ruined this song, but just approach the song as a very different version than the original. It sounds perfect for the movie. POD really sets it off with the song "The Payback." This is easily one of the best songs on the album. Suprisingly, this song is not featured in the movie per the details on the CD, but it's a really great song. Another awesome song on the album is "Dirty Little Thing" by Velvet Revolver. This high energy track just makes you want to drive fast. The album isn't all rock. Check for Big Boi, Killer Mike, Bubba Sparxx, Youngbloodz, Chingy, and Bone Crusher on the CD. The song, "Dis Dat Block," by The Youngbloodz is awesome and the track is solid. The Youngbloodz are so uner-rated but they always bring fire. Rock and rap reunite when Public Enemy teams with Moby on the track "MKLVFKWR." This is a really different sounding song. It's good though. Bone Crusher and Three Days Grace get things rockin with the song "Just Like Wylin'." This song freakin' rocks. I personally love this soundtrack and the soundtrack producers did a really good job by combining all of these different artists and types of music on one CD. Whereas some soundtracks tire easily, this one has staying power.

Where is BOND???,

I just watched this movie and loved it more than the first one even. The music is great and really fits the action. I have one complaint about the soundtrack CD though...WHY weren't the 3 ladies playing the violins included on it? That was the coolest thing and the music rocked! I was going to buy the CD just for that song alone! Whoever left this beautiful tune off this CD made a HUGE MISTAKE.

"XXX: State Of The Union" -- It's Not Bad, But...,
By Stephie Fryar "Stephie" (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: XXX: State of the Union (Audio CD)
it could have been better than it actually turned out.
Like a couple of other reviewers have mentioned, I was very disappointed that the song played during the boat chase sequence -- "I Play You Lose" by The Grusomes featuring Tezz -- was not included in the soundtrack (I really liked that song), and a song by P.O.D. was included in the album, even though it wasn't heard in the soundtrack. Other than that minor disappointment (along with several others, including the exclusion of Bond's version of "Victory", the absence of Marco Beltrami's opening credits theme and Julian Bunetta's "State Of The Union", which is heard during the closing credits), it's a nice blend of hard rock and rap, with some unusual musical pairings, such as Moby and Public Enemy, and KoRn and Xzibit. If "I Play You Lose", "State Of The Union", the opening credits theme and "Victory" had been included, I would have given this soundtrack compilation four stars, instead of 3 and a half.

Missing the best songs,
By
This review is from: XXX: State of the Union (Audio CD)
I have to admit that I am not a dedicated follower of either rap or rock. But I would have expected the CD to include the track from the group "bond" (yes, it's the three women playing violins in the scene with XXX wearing a tux) and the un-named song during the speed boat chase scene, which does not seem to have been released. But the music's decent, I was just disappointed those two weren't included.

Not Bad But Heard Better,

What are you all talkin bout kids? Best Soundtrack? I'll Admit This soundtrack Rocks. I did like the first XXX CD with 1 rap and 1 rock cd. I like the mixin up. Korn/Xzibit, Bone Crusher/3Days , and POD Tracks take it home. Cube is on a different level. I can't get enough. Most talented HipHop Artist of all Time. ALTHOUGH, lets recall a soundtrack back in the day that took the prize. If ya don't know get it. Judgement Night Soundtrack from the early 90's mixed it all up! All Rap/Rock Tracks. Onyx/Biohazard, House of Pain/Helmet, IceT/Slayer and Cypress Hill/Pearl Jam to name a few. I like to see it comin' back,
Thrown Under a Bus. Ice

Who performed the music during the cocktail party?,
By
This review is from: XXX: State of the Union (Audio CD)
The group included several (three?) women playing electric violins, and the music sounded sort of a cross between rock and classical-ish. It doesn't seem to be on the soundtrack CD, based on the samples I heard. Thanks, --Doug (doug@jensen.org)
