More About the Author

PROFESSORESSA KAJA FOGLIO is the current Head of the Department of Irrefutably True History at Transylvania Polygnostic University. She first became aware of the power of Creative History while listening to the excuses of her fellow students who had failed to produce their homework. Her doctoral work brought recognition to the long hidden canis operisphagus, or "homework-eating dog" which, as we now now, infests most of our major schools and universities. She first became interested in the history of the Heterodyne family during the infamous "Nymphenberg Pudding Incident" when she was mistaken for Agatha by an angry mob of dessert chefs from whom she barely escaped. Her subsequent research has brought her the grudging acclaim and jealous rivalry of many of her academic colleagues. She enjoys airship racing, Hyrulian Electro-Mechanical Shadow Puppetry and illustrated novels.

PROFESSOR PHIL FOGLIO spends most of his time in the field, collecting legends, folk songs, anecdotes and gossip relating to Sparks and their effects on village society and "folk science". This is a bit odd, as he was originally hired by Transylvania Polygnostic University to teach Modern Dance. He first became interested in Heterodyne stories while doing research on simple automatons and was actually present when the Lady Heterodyne unleashed her "Battle Circus" upon Baron Klaus Wulfenbach. Through subsequent research, bribery, and rampant speculation, the professor has managed to fill in a great many of the narrative gaps in the early life of Agatha Heterodyne. He enjoys botany, mechanical illustration, entomology and -in moderation- modern dance.

4.0 out of 5 stars SF humor, June 3, 2004
This review is from: The XXXenophile Collection Vol. 3 (Paperback)
That's SF as in Sex Funnies. The energy level (among other things) stays up in this new installation of the files of the XXXenophiles.

This keeps the "fun" in the bodily functions. All of the vignettes are consensual and no one gets hurt. The settings are as varied as the world of science fiction can make them. The drawings are in Foglio's signature style, but with juicy, exaggerated anatomy. Despite the topic there's really nothing prurient here, it's all too cartoony.

As long as you're flexible about what's OK between consenting adults, this is wonderful visual humor.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not his best work, but fun nonetheless, February 21, 2001

Don't let the three stars fool you. This is excellent work. Mr. Foglio has not lost his humor or his artistic ability. Mr. Foglio's enjoyment of the sexual act and his pleasure in the inherent humor of it all still shines through, much to my enjoyment. My distaste for this book comes from two parts. Firstly, the sexual situation portrayed, while interesting, are mostly not especially my cup of tea (as opposed to much of _XXXenophile 1_.) Secondly, I did not find the humor particularly humorous. A good book; it simply does not have the same quality as the first.

5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD DIRTY FUN!, April 5, 2000
By A Customer
If you like comedy, erotica, and adult books, you could not be happier than with Xxxenophile. Funny, damned witty, and very sexy. Well worth your dime.
