The best xXxenophile yet, April 29, 2001
This review is from: The XXXenophile Collection Vol. 6 (XXXenophile) (Paperback)
For all those "What's New" fans who waited reasonably patiently all those years for "Sex and D&D" to finally get addressed, here's your answer. This is the first xXxenophile collection-format book that's just one long story, and it's hilarious. Take your standard D&D group (well, as standard as is possible in Phil Foglio's imagination) and send them on a quest involving a basketball-sized ruby that invokes incredible lust in anyone who touches it, and you've got the funniest, sexiest adventure since Scherazade used to tell bedtime stories. Buy this.

A fantasy romp, September 3, 2004
This review is from: The XXXenophile Collection Vol. 6 (XXXenophile) (Paperback)
Romp between the sheets, in the hallways, and anywhere else the mood strikes. And strike it will --
This book picks up where the first five left off. Volumes 1-5 collect the short pieces from the comic book originals. This is a new story, and the only XXXenophile book with one story end to end. It is a fantasy quest, in search of a god's missing libido. The questers find it, and it works its god-like power over them, in pairs, threesomes, and moresomes.
It pays to have a versatile attitude towards what passes between adults when reading this book. That may not matter too much, though. The cartoony couplings (and triplings, and more)are hard to take seriously, even when the participants are seriously hard. Still, it's not for people with tender sensibilities.
The good news is that this is a central chapter of a much longer story, so there are prequels and sequels to anticipate. The sad news is that Foglio has not yet given us the rest of that story. I, for one, can't wait.

Where are Phil and Dixie?, July 17, 2008
This review is from: The XXXenophile Collection Vol. 6 (XXXenophile) (Paperback)
For fans of Phil Foglio who remember his "What's New with Phil and Dixie" here is the long awaited issue on "Sex and D&D". In a departure from his previous XXXenophile Collections this graphic novel is a single story that follows a typical D&D party in an adventure. Okay maybe typical is the wrong word, but any gamer (You know who you are) will recognize the characters immediatly. Not a gamer? You poor thing. Don't worry the story requires only that have a sense of humor and it will take care of everything else. For any adult that is now or every was a D&D player not reading this book would be a tragedy that would leave you forever scarred. Don't let this happen to you, buy this book now. And if you never were a player this book is still to wonderful to pass up, order a copy and I think you will agree.
