5.0 out of 5 stars Unboxing the XBOX Elite Spring Bundle
Customer Video Review     Length:: 1:41 Mins
My reasons for buying the XBox360 are many, but the main reason was to play certain games not offered on my PS3. The games I like probably aren't ones most XBox360 owners like. I'm a big fan of some of the classic games offered in XBox Game Room, Space Invaders Extreme, Outrun Online Arcade and Geometry Wars Evolved.
I also bought this...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good for the Price
This bundle is a pretty good choice. The 120 GB hard drive is great but this Xbox 360 elite bundle does not include HDMI or even the RGB video cable. Instead it has the basic yellow video cable with the red and white audio cables. It's kind of a bummer but not too bad. The games are great and the system works perfectly right out of the box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unboxing the XBOX Elite Spring Bundle, May 25, 2010

This review is from: Xbox 360 120GB Elite Spring 2010 Bundle (Video Game)
Length:: 1:41 Mins

I also bought this package, because the 2 games I always wanted and envied XBox owners for, Forza Motorsport 3 and Halo 3 (ODST).
The only downfall I see with XBox 360 is that it is a much more expensive machine to own in the long run. For the XBox360 controller, you must constantly purchase 2 AA batteries. You could opt for a play and charge kit, but that isn't free. Also, 50 dollars for a year subscription to play online, which I'd say is a must if you own a game like Halo 3 or Modern Warfare 2. Last but not least is a huge added expense, the wireless network adapter. Personally, I have an N network and would have to buy one of these to go wireless. Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter A/B/G & N Networks

I do believe that all 3 systems are excellent(5 stars) systems and there are pros and cons to each. The XBox360 is an awesome system, but just beware of the added expenses after the initial purchase. I highly recommend the XBox 360 2010 Elite Spring Bundle.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great bundle with 2 minor annoyances!, April 1, 2010
By
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Xbox 360 120GB Elite Spring 2010 Bundle (Video Game)
First off, let me state that this is a great bundle for an Xbox 360 newcomer. As shown, it comes with two popular games for the system, Halo 3: ODST and Forza Motorsport 3. The system looks great and runs very nicely. Also these are all manufactured with the Jasper chipset, the most reliable of all known 360 chipsets. I've owned another Jasper for over a year with absolutely no problems. There are two small annoyances I found with the bundle that I would like to address.

1. There is NO HDMI cable in the bundle. I'm pretty upset Microsoft took this route and have not included the HDMI cable in this bundle. Not sure why this move was made, but it's very disappointing.

2. Forza 3/Halo 3: ODST both come in the same case. This is pretty standard with all bundles of this nature, but for us OCD gamers, it's pretty annoying. 4 discs in one case. Really Microsoft?

Other than those 2 minor problems, I found the bundle to be up to par with the rest of the Microsoft game bundles. It makes a great gift for anybody and is also perfect for those looking to upgrade to a new system and hard drive (120gb).

Also something I liked, it came with a voucher to download a Boys and Girls Clubs of America hoodie for your male or female avatar. For each redeemed token, a $1 donation is made to Boys and Girls Clubs of America. I liked this and am proud to say my avatar has his hoodie on right this second.

5.0 out of 5 stars Currently the best Xbox bundle, May 10, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Xbox 360 120GB Elite Spring 2010 Bundle (Video Game)
The Elite Spring 2010 Bundle is currently the best value in an Xbox 360 console. Compared to the Arcade Spring 2010 Bundle, this has a headset, a one-month Netflix trial, a 120 GB hard drive, an ethernet cable, and two (better) games all for an extra $100. The Arcade Spring comes with two outdated, lame games, while this includes ODST and Forza 3 which are great titles that you will actually play and, from a $$ point of view, are worth considerably more. If you buy a 120 GB HD, that alone retails for $99.99, so everything else you can just consider free over the Arcade Spring Bundle. I probably sound like I only care about money, but this is a bundle package so I figure you should know you're getting, right?

I had been wanting an Xbox 360 for a while. Finally a bundle I could not pass up! Both games high up on my desire to play list, bundle that with the 120GB hard drive and make the console black, and I couldn't resist. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others who do not have an Xbox 360 or have a red ringed older model.

Seeing as I needed a new Xbox the elite bundle seemed to be the best option as you get two free games. I lucked out and just happened to order a couple days after the Spring Version release. I'm glad I was able to get two good games instead of Lego Indian Jones and one good game. Two things I don't like about the package is a lack of HDMI or Component cables and Microsoft refusing to give out the transfer cables for free anymore. These are minor things however as anyone with an older 360 can still use the original video cables with the Elite. Overall a great purchase. A must buy for anyone wishing to buy or upgrade the Xbox 360.

I should warn you first, I'm not much of a gamer. I don't really have the time. I bought the XBOX 360 to watch Netflix instantly on my TV.

I can tell you the system is fantastic. I can set up a queue and instantly watch anything that's available and the picture quality is amazing. There's no buffering time suddenly stopping the movie as you're watching it like you might sometimes get with YouTube. With Netflix, I can get rid of all my cable movie channels and save big bucks every month off my bill.

I played BAD COMPANY 2 online and it was a lot of fun. The XBOX controller took some time getting used to, but soon it feels like an extension of your body.

All in all, a great value for the money

5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good..., September 11, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Xbox 360 120GB Elite Spring 2010 Bundle (Video Game)
I've had my 360 for a little over 6 months, and so far it's been a near-perfect gaming experience. I purchased the Spring 2010 model mainly for the Forza game and the 120GB storage (not really a Halo fan, but ODST is pretty fun).
It was a tough choice between the 360 and the PS3. I was actually leaning toward getting a PS3 at first since I love Sony electronics and, at least on paper, the PS3 hardware is overall more powerful and more reliable than the 360. I'd also heard horror stories of the 360's rampant RROD and DVD drive problems. But before making my final deceision, I decided to investigate the games I would want to get on either system and to get some hands-on experience with boths systems. I mostly play fighting, racing, and 3rd-person sandbox-type games. That only made the decision harder since both systems have their fair share of excellent exclusives. Ultimately, although the PS3 has some awesome exclusives that I tried out, I went with the 360 based on it having more of the games I wanted to play and a higher number of better versions of multi-platform releases. It also seems to have a smoother, more user friendly online experience (in my opinion). As far as hardware performance is concerned; I haven't had any major problems. I was experiencing freezing and frame-rate drop in games like SR2, GTA4 & Crackdown, but the frequency of those problems was greatly reduced once I installed the games to my HDD, raised the power brick off the floor, and dropped the room temp to 69 degrees.
The downsides to the 360 are; it is very noisy (this model, at least), the d-pad on the standard issue controller is HORRIBLE (especially for fighting & retro games), and some of the original Xbox games listed on the 360 backwards compatible list are barely compatible or not compatible at all (most titles work fine, but MS should de-list the ones not really compatible so gamers don't waste their money).
Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. If the first six months are indicative of future performance, I will be pleased with the 360 for a very long time. I'm sure I'll get a PS3 someday; games like GoW3 and Uncharted 1 & 2 are just too mindblowing to miss. But it'll be a while since there are plenty of great 360 games to keep me busy.
To finish up this review, I recommend the Saitek controller for fans of fighting and retro games. Its d-pad, although not perfect, is miles better than one on the standard 360 controller. Also, before you buy an original Xbox game that's listed as compatible with the 360, look it up on the compatibility list on Wiki where it shows what kind of problems it may have.

A Kid's Review

The xbox 360 console itself it very good. It makes me mad that a few months after I buy this console, Microsoft comes out with one with built it WIFI for the same price. All these people say that this console is loud. It is only loud (but still not very loud) when I play Forza 3. All of the other Games I play on this console are quiet. The controler is very good. I have had my xbox for six months and I am still using the same controller. The headset that the console comes with is okay. It broke after five months. The game HALO 3 ODST is pretty bad in my opionion. But that is just my opionion. Alot of people think HALO 3 ODST is a great game. It is a shooter game, there is no swearing in this game eventhough it is rated M. This also come with the HALO 3 multiplayer disk. The second game is Forza 3. My xbox will get loud when I play this game. I find this game to be very fun and relaxing eventhough some of the races can last for 30 minutes. But that is only about six of the races. Forza 3 is a very fun game. It also come with a dowloadable content disk that gives you extra cars and tracks. In my opionion this is a very good deal.

I owned my last video game which was made my the long gone Coleco, and Zaxon was the hottest. But 30 years have passed, so it was time to get back in then game.

The Spring edition XBOX 360 is great. It was so easy to hook up comes with everything you need. Not only does it do games, but I can stream movies on Netflix onto my 40" set.

Sure there are member ship dues, there are with everything these days, but hey it's allot of fun for us boomers looking to get back in the game.
