5.0 out of 5 stars Great deal with two great games! November 12, 2012
Platform for Display:4GB with Kinect Holiday Value Bundle|Edition:Standard
I completely agree with Connor to his point (Halo 4 is great), but if this is going to kids, the 4gb will likely serve you well for a while (maybe forever). I have a 250gb Xbox (no Kinect) downstairs for my own games and a 4gb Kinect bundle upstairs for the kids (bought at launch). I did recently purchase a 16gb flash drive to extend the storage for demo and arcade games, but this was under $20 and I didn't really need it for actual games. With the fall 2012 update, they just upped the maximum USB storage you can use to 32gb. Today's prices put 32gb drives in the $25 range. Just a heads up on other options this holiday season.

Kinect adventures and Disneyland Adventures are both great games (Kinect sports are great too), I paid full price for the Kinect bundle and Disneyland Adventures when they each came out and they are both worth it if you have young kids (mine are both under 5). There are plenty of horrible games (I'm looking at you, Star Wars Kinect and Sonic Racers Kinect) but just play the demos before you buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great but requires a MONTHLY Fee November 28, 2012

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I have a PS3 and have had one for about 5 years. It is a great product that I wish Sony would do more with. That being said, over Thanksgiving, my wife and I were introduced to the Kinect. It is awesome - so much fun for a group of people when they cut loose.

Via Amazon's lightning deals, I was able recently to get a great price on the Xbox and Kinect packaged deal. We received the Xbox today and immediately started playing (very easy setup) one of the dancing games. It is seriously a fun game, we played for a couple hours.

When we finished, I started poking around with the other features of the Xbox. What I quickly found is that the Xbox is fairly worthless for any other feature other than games unless you want to drop another $10 a month (or $100/year) on the Gold service. You can't even use Netflix unless you pay this monthly fee - on TOP of what you already pay Netflix. And to top it off, you can't even use Internet Explorer without the "Gold" Service. It's not much, it's just more the principle of the matter when you can use Netflix on every other device for free.

Anyway, I highly recommend the Xbox if you only want to play games and use the Kinect. For any other service, use the PS3, Roku, Wii, any basic media streaming device, etc etc etc. They're all free to use!

4.0 out of 5 stars Xbox? Great. 4 GB hard drive? Nearly useless. November 10, 2012
By Connor
Platform for Display:4GB with Kinect Holiday Value Bundle| Edition:Standard|Verified Purchase
Do yourself a favor and buy the 250 GB bundle. With the 4 GB you cannot play games like Halo 4 and you'll end up shelling out another $130 for the separate hard drive anyways.

Other than that, Xbox 360 is still amazing. Even after 7 years since its launch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Made me say WOW! November 22, 2012
Platform for Display:4GB with Kinect Holiday Value Bundle|Edition:Standard
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I must really say, the Xbox 360 made me WOW! I am a PS3 owner, and I'm am loyal to it , but I must really say that the Xbox 360 is amazing. I purchased the 4GB version so I could have bought the Xbox 360 320GB Hard Drive that includes a downloadable copy of LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. I mainly purchased it for my 3 year old and my 7 year old. They mostly love the Kinect(tm) since their hands are a bit to small for the controllers. But they love that can play just by moving their bodies. The Xbox 360 320GB Hard Drive was for me since I love DLC (Downloadable Content) and downloading movies and arcade games. One thing I don't like is that, when you play for a long time (using the controller) using the Left Trigger and the Right Trigger using your ring finger it usually goes numb. But overall I must say that the Xbox 360 is an amazing console. If your looking for some fun and adventure for you and your kids that it is definitely for you. But if you are a hardcore gamer then the PlayStation 3 would be for you.
I hope that you take my review into consideration when deciding which console to buy. Expect to here more from me soon. See ya guys!

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it December 5, 2012
Platform for Display:4GB with Kinect Holiday Value Bundle|Edition:Standard
I bought the Xbox 360 with Kinect to have a fun way to exercise. Once we got it set up it is fun and easy to use. A fast and fun way to work up a sweat.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The initial setup is very easy and straightforward. The kids love the Kinect and interacting without a wiimote. What I really struggle with is why I would have to pay microsoft to access the Amazon Prime I already pay for via a wireless internet I already pay for. I can access Prime via PS3 for free and was looking forward to using the Xbox in another room to expand Prime options.

If the hope is to use this as more than a video game machine... or you don't mind paying twice for Prime or Netflix... then this is for you... if you are looking for a more rounded media content device go with PS3 - or maybe Wii U will be even better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Moving up from the Wii December 30, 2012
Platform for Display:4GB with Kinect Holiday Value Bundle| Edition:Standard|Verified Purchase
Our 5 year old enjoys playing video games on our Wii, but because of the complicated remote control a five year old playing the Wii means an adult playing the Wii and the five year old pretending to play along.

Enter the Xbox with Kinect. He still needs help getting the games set up. And his poor little hand won't hold still long enough to trigger the buttons most of the time (although he is working on it). But once he is in the games he can do that on his own without parental participation.

The adventure game with this set is fun and entertaining, We have not figured out the Disney game yet. There is a problem with getting him identified and it keeps reverting him to a guest avatar. Probably something to do with that five year old inability to stand still issue.

The games are a lot of fun for him and the whole family. We bought Kinect Sports seasons 1 & 2 and also downloaded Kinect Party. The former is a lot of fun with plenty of variety, the latter is silly fun for a 5 year old and entertaining for everyone to watch. Especially when our dog wanders through the middle of a scene.

The only drawback so far is the 4GB of internal memory. You will have to expand this if you plan on downloading anything at all. We downloaded a few free games and the updates to the games we had purchased and the 4gb was gone. The official add on Hard Drive can slide right in to this unit, but it costs more to buy from Microsoft than just going up to the 250gb bundle in the first place. There are ways around buying an official Microsoft Hard drive if you have an old laptop hard drive laying around but theoretically use of those drives can get you removed from Xbox Live, so buyer beware if you go that route.
