The only resolution where there is no ghosting is at 640x480, which is an eyesore in it of itself.
Stranger thing is, in addition to ghosting at higher resolutions, the picture never fits fully to the screen (even with changing the settings on the actual monitor and whatnot)on any other resolution EXCEPT 640x480. The lowest resolution is literally the only one that works properly and without ghosting.
But like all the other reviews, it's a $5 cable compared to the $40 "Microsoft Xbox 360 official" cable and it works at 640x480...so its not total suckage, and if you have a super small/old monitor with VGA and you want to play your Xbox 360 on it, this is great.
But if you're like most of us that wanted to hook the 360 up to our nice monitors with 1920x1080 resolution, you MIGHT want to shell out the $40 on the microsoft xbox 360 official vga cable.
I have not bought that official one myself, but I just might end up doing that if I get sick of this low resolution crap.
Another thing is that I've heard of people having similar ghosting problems and they contacted the seller eforcity and got a replacement and the replacement supposedly worked really well without any problems. So I might ask them what they could help me out with as well.
But basically, have low expectations of the image quality, and remember, you get what you pay for.
The build quality feels terrible, it uses brittle and cheap plastics compared to the heavier Microsoft cables.
The split where the Audio cables are is short compared to the official VGA cable, so if you are like me and have to plug them into spots that are not very close, you may have trouble.
The shielding isn't very good so interference will happen.
But.. it works.
It's super cheap, and it's good enough.
Ghosting/color bleeding can be avoided by not having the cable near other electronic devices, or plugging it into an extender cord. I did that for awhile, and it had worse ghosting issues than the default cable.
The cheap price means that you have to work around the cable's limitations and problems. but when you set things up right, it will deliver the same audio and video quality of the more expensive cables.. it's just hard to get things set right.
Whilst the resolution settings I have it at are low, the picture is much better than the 480i quality I was getting on my ancient television. I can actually read text clearly, and all of the action is on screen instead of being cut of. I was able to get a small 15" monitor hooked up right above my desk that allows me to play in the comfort of my room without having to worry if my cousins are using the television my Xbox is hooked up to. I love the convenience.
So, if you have some bucks to spare you might as well go for the Microsoft cable. It is about 50 USD, and gives off a better picture than this cable at higher resolutions. But for a penny-pinching dude like me who is willing to use lower resolutions (because I don't care much) this is a good purchase. At the price it is at, is worth the gamble. Just be warned that lower resolutions look worse the larger the screen is, so the cable is really only ideal for smaller screens.
I've read that some people are having a problem with the audio. To fix that, just purchase an RCA female-to-male coupler and a female-to-female coupler. This will allow you to either plug in headphones or speakers to the cable, and it is also a cheap alternative for those without the necessary jacks. I purchased both of the aforementioned items for about 8 USD.

It works. Higher resolutions make the video quality degrade quickly. Poor color.
Hard to complain with the price though.
Works great, now I can have one monitor for my xbox 360 and another for my gaming pc. Works well and has good quality. Read morePublished 1 month ago by murphy j chatelain
