Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable

The review prior to this is an unfair low rating due to the fact he didn't know it already came with his 360. This item is only for people who need a new one or purchased a 360 without one. The 360 component cable is an excellent cable and great for high definition gameplay. 5 stars.

I felt compelled to write a review after some people gave it a low rating due to not reading product discriptions. If you bought the core system- 299- this does not come with the system only the standard yellow red white cables. So if you want to use a core system on your HDTV you need thsi cable.

This cable comes with the $399 version of the xbox. The only reason you would need this cable would be for the "core" model or yours broke.

If you bought the core system, you get a basic cable. If you own an HDTV (720p/1080i/1080p) you'll need this component cable (or VGA if your TV has that option). If you use a DD5.1 audio receiver, you'll need the optical digital cable with connects to this cable (TOSlink).

Vs the Monster cable? This cable seems to work fine. I am able to find general 50' premium component cables on the internet for less than the price of the Monster cable. I didn't notice any significant difference in quality of Monster over the MS cable.

just to let the people that are buying the new slim console. you dont get these with console. you get a a/v wire standard definition wires, that are not going to give you high definition.

The cables worked fine for about a year. Now the cable seems to work sometimes but for the most part it just shows purple lines going across the screen. I have to switch from regular tv to hdtv a few times to make it work. The sound always comes thru just the video has problems.

These connectors give excellent video quality. Granted you get this with the premium system, so it is not a necessity to buy for most people. However, I will be getting one to setup on my HDTV downstairs, so it is easier to move the XBox from one tv to another without a bunch of hassle.

The only thing that bumps it down to 4 stars is the price. This thing should not cost $30-$40. Same goes for the XBox power adaptor ($70?!).

First and foremost, the cable works perfectly without any problems. It has Microsoft branding and the small silver Microsoft sticker (that can't be counterfeited) so you know it's an original Microsoft product.

However, based on earlier reviews, since we are all buying from different sellers you may not be as lucky as me and you may receive a non-Microsoft knockoff. In my experience the cheap knockoffs aren't bad (they may have even come out of the same factory somewhere in Asia) but you may want to heed caution.

It came bundled up in a cable tie and wrapped in a plastic sleeve with no documentation. It is obviously secondhand, most likely from a refurbished console, certainly zero warranty. This isn't necessarily a problem, but it seems that the Amazon policy has always been new-until-proven-used. Nowhere does the product page say it's refurbished or used; it simply says the cable is made by Microsoft and you have the option to add it to the cart. Therefore the assumption is made that you will receive a new unit in an impossible-to-open retail package that you would otherwise get from Best Buy, complete with warranty information and instructions. Whether or not the product works, misleading the customer is not okay.

The product did absolute what it was marketed to do it allowed for a better picture quality on my HDTV.

The HD component cables are a great product, perfect for people who want to use accessories for the xbox that require the RWY cables like a Hauppauge or a high end head set. I didn't notice any loss of quality between these cables and the HDMI cable that I was using. I would highly recommend these.
