Great Accessory,

The Glow Stand Fan is a great accessory, one perhaps every XBox 360 user should not be without considering all of the heat issues the console has. I haven't used the other products that are out there, especially the Nyko due to users commenting that it melts onto the 360 and voids the warranty. Thus I can't compare the Glow Stand with others but this product is excellent. During my Oblivion marathons the air coming out of the back isn't quite so hot so to me that's reassurance that the Glow Stand is doing its job. The fans are relatively quiet-- as someone else already stated they're no louder than the 360's fans. The lights are pretty ambiguous; however, they do make it look a little bit more cool when they're on, and they act as a nice reminder that the product is still on so you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off. Yes, you have to actually turn it off and on yourself, but if you're incapable of flipping a little switch then what are you doing playing video games in the first place? I love my 360 so a cheap add-on that helps with heat issues, doesn't void the warranty, and isn't annoyingly loud is pretty much a no-brainer in my book. Great item, get it.**EDIT*** I read about the new Nyko Intercooler EX on IGN and how the new model has fixed the problems of melting and so forth. I've purchased it and it works excellent! Working in tandem, the Glowstand and the *new* Intercooler EX make my X-Box feel like it just started up after 3+ hours of use, both to the touch of the console itself AND frame-rate and load times. Check out the Nyko Intercooler EX (The EX, not the old one!!), these products WILL save your 360.

Look no further for a cooling solution,

I have tried the Pelican fan stand, but the fan is weak and not as effective, plus it steals power from the 360, and results in crashes. I've never tried the Nyko intercooler, but it has terrible reviews due to the same issue of it stealing power from the 360 and causing huge damage to the sytems. But this Intec XBOX 360 Glow Stand with Fan is amazing and stands out because it DRAWS ITS OWN POWER FROM AN OUTLET, NOT THE 360.First, it has two fans with its own power adapter you plug into an outlet, whereas other third party cooling solutions plug directly into the 360 and steal power. This allows the stand to have even more power and is able to support the 2 powerful fans unlike the flimsy little pinwheel in the Pelican fan stand. This also means that it is completely independent from your console and will not cause it to have problems in any way due to power shortage. Second, the cooling is amazing. It feels like an air conditioner almost rather than a fan. The two fans are extremely powerful, thanks to having unlimited power from an outlet. It can blow a heck of a lot of wind into your console. It's a little loud, but no more than your 360. Third, the lights look awesome. It produces a nice glow effect around your 360 with a greenish-turquoise color that adds to your 360's look. The light runs up the sides giving it an awesome beacon-like look. It also comes with two pockets for memory cards. If you want, since it is my preference, I like to put my console in horizontal position. The horizontal position is better than vertical because there is less risk of damaging your disc drive or your game discs. I know this stand was designed for a vertical position, but if you find a wired shelf or wired elevation of some kind (you can get them at Target for five bucks), you can stick the stand through the spaces between the wires (or clip an opening) and support your 360 in the horizontal position. This elevation on a wired shelf will allow your 360 to circulate air better, because it is not in contact with any surfaces that will block it. Doing this in conjunction with the glow stand will leave your system COLD! In summary, it is the best cooling solution yet.

I have had every fan stand that you can find for the 360 so far and this is by far the best. It is the quietest and smallest. Does keep my system extremely cool but again is the quietest. It also does not connect via USB but through an AC adapter so it doesn't steal power from your 360.It also doesn't obstruct the intercooler so they can work together. *EDIT* Per another users request here is additional information. I hope this helps more. I tried it without the intercooler and I also tried one of my other fans without the intercooler for you and from what I can tell the 360 casing is noticeable cooler with this stand. The casing normally gets extremely warm along with the air that is being sent out. With this stand (with the intercooler its better) alone the air itself from what I can tell is much cooler. I keep my 360 in an open area by my TV and since its winter the heater blows on the 360 so I find these cooling devices essential.

Xbox 360 Glow Stand with Fan - REALLY WORKS!!!,

I, like most, was trying to keep my XBox 360 cool as well. I tried everything from a fan blowing on it to alot of other crazy contraptions I thought up in my head. One day I saw this and thought... well if it doesn't work... I can just send it back.I also want you to know that I did something a little different than most. I purchased a thermometer for a fish tank (the sticky strip ones you put on the outside of the tank) and put it on the XBox 360 near the top on the outside of the unit by the CD Tray. My reason for this is because the CD's were coming out RED HOT! This test is without the cooler. I started up my XBox 360 at a room temperature of 68 on the thermometer and within 15 minutes the XBox had a tempurature or over 100 degrees farenheit! The air coming out the back was just swealtering hot and the back (underside) was almost too hot to touch. Now a test with the Glow Stand Cooler with Fans. I started it up and it had a room temperature of 68 again and in 15 minutes... it was only at 72!!! Not only that but it stayed there the entire time I played for over 2 hours! The air coming out the fans in the back was mildly warm as was the backside of the unit! When I took out the CD it was luke warm at best! Does this unit work? You bet it does! Intercoolers (first or second generation) are harmful to your XBox 360. This unit uses it's own power and does the job right! It looks great and works AWESOME!!! If you have overheating problems... look no further... this is your solution!

Pro'sa) Doesn't use your XBox 360 as a power source, fans that do load the XBox's internal power supply and produce more heat. b) Forces you to keep it vertical by design, likely spaced well, and the vertical orientation provides the most ventilated surface area. c) Actually provides some intercooling, drawing air from the XBox 360 to vent below the fan. Con's a) It's not connected to the XBOX 360 power source. You're going to have to turn it on by actually flipping a switch. Off too, if you want. b) It forces you to keep your XBOX vertical. It's not for you if you want it in your pretty media rack. Frankly in my opinion keeping your XBOX 360 vertical and with a couple inches of free space on either side and no above shelf is the best way to keep it cool. I've done that and added this fan, I could care less about the glow stand, could do without it, but the fan portion helps and keeps my XBOX 360 cool as a cucumber where it stands.

Everyone Who Owns An Xbox 360 Should Buy This....,

This is a great product. Our 360 Would get very hot after just an hour of play time. Now we can play for over 5 hours and it never gets too hot. The green glow is pretty cool and does not distract us from playing the game. The only thing that could be improved are how loud the fans are. They are not so loud they distract you from your play, but they aren't quiet. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone who owns an Xbox 360. I am so happy we got it!

This thing is pretty good. There is a couple of things to consider before buying this product.1. To use it you must use your xbox 360 in the vertical position. 2. Although the base is wide your xbox dosent fit tightly in this unit. So dont expect it to act as a sturdy base you can tip your xbox just as easliy while using it. 3. This is a cosmetic thing but the green lights dont match the green lights on the xbox. See in the picture how the lights are blue-green? Well your xbox green lights are that bright grass green ("atari green" as like to call it), so although it does look kinda cool it dosent match which makes it look like weird. 4. Everything turns on at once so the fans and the lights are on the same switch so you cant use just the fan with out the lights. This might not seem like a big deal but those lights are kinda bright and sometimes distracting if you are playing in the dark. It would be really great if you could use just the fan with out the lights if you so desired. 5. It has two fans instead of one! 6. It does not draw power from your xbox!!! This is the best feature of this whole system. Every other fan unit draws power from the xbox it self which will void your warranty. This baby doest void warranty. So all in all its not amazing but its not expensive. I dont know how much it acctually does as far as cooling but if you are going to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on your xbox it might be a good idea to make sure you keep it as cool as possible. Its only 20.00 Elder Scrolls ROCK!!!!!!!!

Highly Recommended... Some Tinkering Required,

This glow stand cooler has been a really great buy for me. It doesn't hog power from the 360 and runs really well. The only downside is that mine, along with many others it seems, runs rather loud like the fan is rubbing up against its insides for the first 2 to 3 minutes it's on... usually a light tap can fix this... but I try to just wait it out being that my semi-expensive 360 is sitting on top of it. So if you have just enough nerve to deal with a small annoyance for a great cooling system... buy this one... don't get the Intercooler... it will fry your system and void your warranty.

Okay, so I definitely would recommend this - only issue, is most of the time when I turn it on, it sounds like an electric pencil sharpener. I've found that if I turn it on, let it run for about a minute, then turn it off then on again, the sound usually goes away. Now, besides that, it works great.I am going to try to drip some silicon lubricant on the fans friction areas and see if it helps. This is not a show stopper for me. The unit is powered by its own adapter, and does not draw power away from the xbox360. Also in point, it continues to cool when the xbox360 has been powered down, because it runs independent from the Xbox360. As far as looks are concerned, I love this thing. I like to stare at it. So green. So pretty.

Looks cool, but noisy,

I have to agree with Manrow. It worker great for 2 days then began making a horrible loud noise on start-up. I think the frame was made a little too weak to support the weight of the 360. It does stop after about 20 to 30 seconds and becomes the proper whirring fan noise. The small switch on the back is annoying, also. However, it looks good and the color and chrome trim compliment the 360 very well, and according to Microsoft (yes, I actually called), they said that this fan or one similar THAT HAS ITS OWN POWER SUPPLY would "work great to cool the 360" in turn prolonging the life of the unit. The 360 can be heard as a low hum across the room. With the 360 and this fan on, it is definately louder but not too bad. Sounds the same as those cheap computer fans. Any add-on fan for this kind of price that actually works is going to raise the overall noise level of a 360. Overall, a small price to pay now to keep from paying a big Microsoft repair price later.
