This review is from: Xbox 360 Fan Stand (Video Game)
This is an awesome product.my old 360 was defective and i got a replacement from microsoft, then all the sudden it began freezing up alot(due to heat issues), so i had already had the intercooler from when it came out back in march to support my old 360,and i snapped it on and everythings good.... then recently an episode came up where the disc reader was getting very hot(i got discs out that felt like they had been sitting in a desert lol) ,i targeted buying the fanstand because it shoots air up , instead of just sucking the hot air out like the intercooler does. i had an extra 20 on my hands so i went out and bought this fan stand, and it just does wonders for my 360, when you do a horizontal layout of your 360 you lose the side vents(sides that say xbox360) , but when you have the fanstand you regain the side vents and the bottom one + a fan for the bottom, this fan is really quiet too.the fan is powered by the back usb port, but its a passthrough plug so you dont lose a port (lifesaver if you have the xbox360 wireless adapter)(i use the back port for my ipod) the minor cons i have about this product are-- 1. the fan has a manual switch , no auto on or off(thats a minor due to the fact that i act amish and get up to turn my 360 off), and 2 theres only one fan in the bottom , in the intercooler theres 3 . the display picture doesnt do this product it's justice so therefore im posting my own customer pictures, so go take a look for yourself.I hope this review has influenced your decision in a positive way.

The Pelican Xbox 360 Fan Stand is a nice piece of hardware designed to cool your 360 system and help prolong the life of the system. The standard picture shown of the device doesn't really do it justice.. the actual device is the same color of your Xbox 360, so it matches almost perfectly. There is an on/off switch on the back of the device and the USB plug has an input port built in so you wont loose a USB port, very handy for those with Wireless adapters.
The device also has a place to house your media remote and 2 games (1 if you're using the remote holder ) The fan pushes a decent amount of air for its size and is very quiet. When using your Xbox you wont hear it at all. Overall this is a very cheap and effective way to keep your system cool and potentially prolong its life span. A very good investment indeed.

A Fan's a Must-Have for XBox 360 Owners,
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Xbox 360 Fan Stand (Video Game)
If you've got an XBox 360, you know exactly why you need a fan stand. This unit gets very hot, and the built in fan - while loud - just isn't up to the task of keeping it cool.
The unit is designed very simply. You sit your 360 into this stand, and it cools the unit from below. You can put one game box to the right side, and your remote to the left. Really, that's not why you get the unit though :) It's all about the fan. If you haven't been watching the news or hanging out with other gamers, the XBox 360 is VERY prone to crashing and completely melting down due to heat issues. Part of this might be that gamers lay their XBox 360s down on the ground - blocking all the vents so the system can't get normal air flow - or they jam their unit into a corner where the heat builds up. This system really needs to have ample air cooling around it and be in a vertical position. This stand helps to make sure you get that vertical position and that you have extra cooling. You REALLY want to keep the unit - like any computer or electronic device - away from lint, dust and other air-junk. Hopefully you are vacuuming frequently - and if you have a carpeted floor - have the unit on a piece of wood or something else to protect it. By default the unit is USB powered so that you can plug it into the XBox 360 and then plug an USB item into the fan. However, it's sort of silly to make the XBox 360 work harder (and get hotter) to then power a fan to cool it down :) It's much better to plug the fan into the wall directly so that the XBox 360 gets as cool as possible while the fan draws its power from the wall. Most gamers have the necessary USB wall plug to handle this pretty easily - and if you don't, it's a cheap item to get. The only real down side is that the fan has a manual on switch, but in the grand scheme of things, that's not a huge issue especially since you want it to turn on and off independently of the XBox 360. Also, I suppose you could complain about the fan's quiet noise, but since the XBox 360 is already a noisy machine, that's pretty much a wash. Considering how much money an XBox 360 costs, and how frequently the average owner plays with it, it is VERY worth it to keep it cool and running well.
